Philips DCP750 Portable DVD Player with Screen

I bought this dvd player to send to my husband in Afghanistan. He loves it! He said the other guys love it too and they've never seen one like it that can also play your iPod. Since his iPod wont stay on unless it is charging, it works great because it charges while it is plugged in. And it fits his 80gig iPod, which I wasn't sure of when I bought it. So far, I haven't heard anything bad about it! Oh, and the video in/out will let him plug in a video game system when he can get one.

I really like my phillps item it plays well and the screen is very clear. Its gets loud enough for you to hear the movies or cd's. and the ipod player works very well too. I just love it. thanks again

I bought this DVD player to entertain my 2 year old on a long plane flight. It had all the basics and was priced right. I wasn't expecting too much and got more than my money's worth. My son was entertained and I was lucky enough to be on a plane that had plugs in between the seats so I never had to lose battery. I did feel like the battery lasted at least 3 hours without the plug. Probably my most pleasant surprise was that the screen flips around. A curious 2 year old pushes a lot of buttons. Since I could turn the screen around the little guy couldn't reach any buttons and it moves the screen closer to the viewer. We've used it 2 months now for lots of trips and we feel satisfied. If I were looking for a powerful DVD player with super sound.. this would not have been my choice. I would have spent more money and gotten the high quality. But for kids, travelers, etc.. its great.

Well, I loved the fact that you can use Video IPod to play your movie which is pretty cool actually. THat's the main reason I wanted to buy this product, but after receiving it i couldn't play it.. the power turns on but the screen remains blank. I can hear the DVD noise but nothing on the screen, so I returned it. I think its because refurbished item therefore it didn't work which is unfortunate because i spend extra $20 for 2nd day shipping and I'm still waiting to find out if I get get that back! Overall, the product seems nice, yes the downside of it is that the battery cannot be removed its factory installed. But the IPOD feature makes it up, I think...

Great portable dvd player. Great sound. Like being able to turn the screen around flat against the unit. Allows the possibility to mount to headrest and should limit some possible damage. Battery doesn't last an extremely long time, but I haven't compared to other brands/models.

First of all, my philips DCP750 is refurbished, but it looks like new so I got a great deal for it.

I just have a week with it and I saw a couple of movies (one on DVD and the other in DivX) and both look great, but I have to say that sound is not great at all. Actually is pretty poor, so if you have some problems listening, this is not a DVD player for you.

At the same time I bought this one, I got a used condition- Durabrand PDV-709 to my little daughter and in many ways Durabrand it's better than Philips, especially on audio.

Anyway, I would recommend Philips DVD player because it can plays DivX, SD cards and iPod directly.

So far it's a great DVD player, but don't know about the ipod part because it DOESN'T play my 80g ipod which is what I most wanted it for. Why isnt't this stated? Apple put a chip in its new ipods that make them incompatible with other brands, forcing us to buy $50 adapters. I give an F to Apple for not allowing us to get better uses out of their product and an F to Phillips for not saying it's only compatible with CERTAIN ipods with video.

I loved the idea of being able to plug my iPod into the DVD player and taking my movies where ever I wanted. Unfortunately, my iPod is too new; it wasn't compatible with the DCP750. It would have required an additional cable, which defeated my purpose to begin with.
But, the seller GREAT to work with in getting it all square. I appreciate their help immensely!!! and would do business with them again if the need arose.

I decided to buy the DVd Player because this is the second time I 've purchased A DVD Player from this seller. The other one I purchased was a Dual Player and its great and this one is just great .

The dvd player is all that I expected. Quite a buy and I saved about $40 vs buying at store. Quick shipment, I will buy form this seller aging.

I had to return my first one for an exchange. It worked fine for the first couple of movies and then wouldn't read disks. The second one I recieved as an exchange reads the DVD's sometimes and others will not load at all. I bought this for my 2 year old daughter for road trips/vacation. We ended up buying a seperate cheaper DVD player about half way to our destination because it wouldn't load (...and you can imagine the patience and understanding we got from our 2 year old that our DVD player was defective). The IPOD dock is neat, although only our older gen. IPOD works with it. Requires a special cable for the newer IPOD to work with this product. Although the product is a reman the appearance of the item is not 'like new' or anywhere near. Case is very scratched up and notedly used.

The quality of the picture is great, but I did not expect such a scratched up cover. On the other hand, I could see, on de his box, that was a renewed item, which doesn’t make me feel glad.

I use this product mainly for travelling because it meets perfectly my expectation:
1. Light and easy to cary
2. Support DVD, ipod and SD which are very popular and convenient
3. Screen size is perfectly good for watching on air plane
I went thru some other product which either more expensive or lack of features.
850 my be better with larger screen size. But to me this size is best match for my purpose.

the price was good for the product and its features, but the screen portion seems to have a mechanical defect and sometimes affects the screen quality. However, a jiggle of the screen usually takes care of the problem. I bought it because I wanted a portable DVD player with a longer battery life. The new cheapest ones were more expensive with not a long enough battery life.

It turns out that Apple put some software in the 2007 and newer iPods that won't let these systems work. I had to buy a special $50 Apple cable with a special chip in it and even then I only got sound, no picture. I was able to return it, but now don't know if other models have the same problem. The product is a great idea, looks great and would have fit my needs perfectly, BUT, only of I had an older iPod. Apple is trying to control all aspects of the market, and the consumer pays!

What a great purchase for the road trips. DVD player has been a blessing and at the price we got it for couldn't find it in any store for that price.

It was everything it said its supposed to...i have read that some people had issues docking the ipod....but It was so easy one you READ the directions.....

The picture quality is excellent. I love that it comes with a remote. We took this on an airplane ride with my 1 year old and the audio was fine. I was a little hesitant about this product because it was refurbished, but so far, so good.

I bought this DVD player for my daughter to use on a car trip. It saved our lives and sanity. This is a simple to operate player with a great picture, and it is the perfect size for our toddler. I thought the screen might be too small but it's not for our use. Older kids may want a little larger screen. Finally, I got a great price for this...well worth it.
