Philips CD4402B/37 Twin 1-Line Cordless Phone

When I first considered buying this phone... I did a little research to see what other consumers thought of it. I was a little discouraged to hear some of the statements that others had used to describe it, but I found it used at a really cheap at a price, for these phones you just couldn't beat (17.50). Well here is my opinion...
First off it does have alot of unnescessary features, at least for the single person with no children, like the baby monitor. For one thing... the phones hold reasonable charge but not enough to leave it near you child for hours at a time... it would simply not hold that long of charge. But for an average user, certain features like the speakerphone.. so nice when you cooking or cleaning to just lay the phone aside and still be able to talk, even if it was on the hook. The sound quality is amazing, and I would highly suggest it for those with hearing problems. It even cuts out certain background noises when talking... I personally love these two features. They also have some pretty amazing ringtones, maybe not the best selection but better than the basic boring ringers... You should know what I mean the ones where if you had heard one ringer you had heard them all.
Now there is also a few cons, but not what I was expecting from the horror stories I had heard from other reviewers... that is the best you could call them. Yes the batteries don't hold the best charge but that is what there are two phones for, and they only take two rechargeable AAA batteries... not that big a deal people. At least there not like your classic cordless phone batteries right... like 20 dollars sometimes more a pop. Rediculous for what two years maybe a battery, please! Finally for the last real con is the password to get to certain things on your phone... Not something that is useful in my opinion, but probably good for the parents out there with teenagers or little kids they don't want changing there settings.
Now as a average buyer, I would highly recommend this phone.. I love it personally. It is one of the best phones I have ever had! For someone who is tired of poor sound quality, likes high tech electronics, and wouldn't mind waking up to the classical music of Chopin's Minute Waltz on the phone's alarm... You will love this phone!!!
