Philips 42PF9976 42" TV - Not worth it!

I purchased this TV a few months back and have been very happy ever since. I really enjoy the ambilght feature, but it is really only usable at night and against a light colored wall. The overall appearance of the TV unit is very streamline and has an expensive appearance. The picture quality is best when in HD and using an HDMI connection. However, beware that the picture quality is very poor when using in conjunction with regular cable TV and a composite connection. The TV has many various on screen menus. You can change the picture preference (i.e. movie/normal), ambilight brightness, sound, display language and so on. Even the ambilight can be set to different mood settings (i.e. Action/Soft/Fixed Color). The picture size can be adjusted to various screen sizes (16:9, widescreen, automatic, zoom, and more). The menus are fairly easy to navigate. The TV can be wall mounted (need to buy wall mount) or use the included base and sit the TV on an entertainment shelf. The TV comes with a remote with the ability to use as a universal remote. The remote is very sturdy and easy to use. I have had no problems so far with my TV. Overall, I would rate this 2.75/5.
Update. TV crapped out after the first year!! Pain in the rear to get service!! And picture quality craps out after first 9 months.
