Phil Mickelson: Secrets Of the Short Game (DVD, 2009, Standard DVD Widescreen)

Some people will pay $300 for a new driver and hope to reduce 5 strokes. Phil's DVD helps me to reduce 3 strokes and only costs me 30 some bucks.
I (index 15) am able to improve 1-3 strokes on an average/round because I’ve learned many short-game scenarios solutions from Phil's DVD. For example, I used to pitch too long/short from 30's yards to green. Now I have more confidence for these shots because I’ve learned different setups for different lies from Phil.
I will recommend it to high and mid handicappers.

I'm a big Tiger fan, but I know that Phil has the best short game going.
50 yards and in is the worst part of my game. So I got a good deal on the DVD thru Ebay.

This is a big production video with high quality color and sound, that moves at a good pace.

I was very impressed with how Phil explained every part of the short game in concise and easy to follow steps. Really, it's all based on one basic set up that works for chipping, pitching, bunkers and even the flop shot.

It looks like this simple advise is able to be taken to the course, without having to think about twelve different things at a time.
I also liked that he debunks all the tips and advise out there that leads to more problems and over complicate the swing.

I feel at ease with my putting game, but Phil points out some basics that I would be dumb not to try out, from alignment to putting aids that he and Dave Pelz recommend.

I would highly recommend this DVD to anyone who needs help in the Short Game department, and unless you're already on the tour, this should benifit your game too.

I was amazed at how simple Phil keeps it. This is a must have. His putting secrets are great also. He makes the teachings fun and is extremely smart as far as the technical aspects. Dave Pelz has a lot to do with that and the numbers are astounding.

This DVD is a great short game tutorial from one of the best. It is easy to understand and practice. Furthermore, while some aids are used in the DVD, there is not a hard-sell for any of these as a prerequisite to playing better. It is obvious that they will help. Lighting is so-so, but the DVD is well shot. It is not HD or blu-ray (while it should be), but the quality is good. I bought it used, so saved some extra $ on the product. Well worth the retail price.

LIKES: I like the presentation and the information Phil teaches in these Dvds.
You can use the same basic club strokes for bunkers, short, mid, and long chips. I have already seen improvement in my short game.

Why did I purchase: I have watched several Dvds and read several books on how to build a good short game. I was able to make some things work and had problems with others. Knowing that Phils short game is very good and possible the best in the PGA Tour, I decided to take a chance and buy his Dvds.
Recommend to Buy: I recommend anybody wanting to improve their short game to purchase Phils Secrets of the short game! You will be happy that you did!

This is one of the best golf DVD's I have ever used. The DVD is easy to use and understand. Phil includes many drills and breakdowns that make it very useful. His wizardry around the green is legendary. He shows it is not inate, but something that can be learned and improved by practice. A must have for golfers who want to improve the most important aspect of the game.

Teaches me about all the stuff i can't do, but will continue to attemt until my coffin is nailed shut.

I have recently taken up golf. I went to ebay to see if I could find some instructional videos. I would probably not have been able to find them locally at a reasonable price. For golfers of all handicaps, this DVD set is full of easy-to-understand tips, drills and examples of how to improve your game from 50 yards and in. Ah, yes... if we would only practice the drills shown in these videos, we would all do better at the short game. The first advice that helped me personally had to do with holding back as you follow through with your chipping stroke... not letting your wrists break. I immediately noticed an improvement in direction on my chips and, after a while, on the distance of my chips in relation to the pin. I did end up purchasing the Pelz LazrAimer (discussed in the DVD)and will eventually purchase the Pelz Putting Tutor. I am convinced that practice using Phil's suggestions will continue to help me improve. I've already watched the series several times and I always manage to learn something new. Highly recommended.

Very disappointed with this product. There are useful tips but I thought that learning from the grandmaster himself would be more enjoyable. It did not meet my expectations.

I just watched the CD yesterday and let me tell you it is a been made well.
I liked the way Phil explained everything about the short game and the way he keeps it simple through the different chapters. As an extra bonus he describes the common amateur faults about the short game while he shows how to do it correctly.....I thouhgt he was talking to me directly!
I am an recreational golfer with no great skills (unless we are talking about hooks and slices then I am a pro) I think it will be easy for me to remember the technics on the course, Phil explains everything using an amateur frendly language while teaching the topics.
I am really happy with the CD and am more then sure I will benefit from this purchase in the long run.
Would recommend this to anybody who needs help in the short game.

As a recent retiree and new to the game of golf, I needed some information about the game. This was full of info and enjoyable to watch. Phil Mickelson has a new fan, and I don't even watch the game.
