I did not realize that it was not in American and cannot use it. I tried to back out before I bid but for some reason it accepted it anyway. I am not happy.

One of the best RPG's on the market! In my opinion, if you don't get this game, something is seriously wrong with you. On the Dreamcast, it had the best graphics, outdoing the PS2. Having both online & offline modes, either gameplay is extremely sweet. Pardon my crude choice of words, but you have to have my mindset on this game to believe what I say. But don't take my word for it; go out there & find this game. Once you play it, you'll see what I'm talking about.

Really good game to re-play. I wanted to live again the experince of this unique game, and all the amazing graphics. The world is huge and full of secrets.

You need time to get all the history behind the normal game, through Quests and so.

You could even go online with some tweaks just search on Yahoo! for a server.

It was like a dream to be able to have my son be able to play this game again. I think that he is a little better than before. He is having a hard time getting any thing else done.

i love phantasy star online version 1 & version 2
Review created: 10/04/07

the reason i gave it the rating i did is because i'm a big fan of the series and it was one of the ones i didn't own yet.
i love this game because i've played the ones after it came out and they got me hooked, internet or no it's a fun game.
pros: there are plenty of items, wepons, and armor to find. lots of areas to explore. multiple difficulties to unlock.
cons: limited offline capabilities. auto swinging camera.

LOVE this game. its 1 of a kind

There's no game out there like this Adventure RPG. I can play this game over and over again and it will never be the same path. The weapons change and the maps change each time you play.

Phantasy Star Online- A great way to pass time
Review created: 04/01/07

I originally bought this game back in 2002 at the mall. At first it was kinda slow, but as you went deeper, it proved to be a great challenge, even more fun if you could get onto SegaNet to party. But after losing the disk in a move, I didn't bother finding another one until 4 more years later.

The nice thing is it comes with a access code and registration key, but that's also one of the flaws in it. Unless you keep that info with the game case and your system happens to crash and burn, making you buy another one, the game would be useless without that code.

Character design is pretty neat, allowing you to customize 3 types of characters: Hunter, Ranger, and Force. Sure you have your standard human, who can use most weapons and skills. Then come the androids, pretty tough, uses primarily guns and swords, but no techniques for this class. Last you have the newman, a special race that specialize in techniques and not really adept to decent melee attacks.

But if your looking to kill some major time, and level your character all the up to 200, this is a game for you. And about leveling up to 200, it is possible, just takes some time.

A great game, but its style will deter some
Review created: 02/20/07

I recently purchased Phantasy Star Online: Version 2 (PSOV2) for the Sega Dreamcast video game console and was very impressed with the game. PSOV2 is the second installment in the Phantasy Star Online (PSO) series, following Phantasy Star Online: Version 1 (PSOV1) for the Sega Dreamcast. PSOV2 is generally considered to be an "add-on" to PSOV1, rather than being considered an entirely new game. I bought this game in response to playing Phantasy Star Online: Episode I & II (PSOE12) for the Nintendo GameCube video game console, which is the third installment in the PSO series and which contains both PSOV1 and PSOV2 as well as additional new features. Since I enjoyed PSOE12 so much and since I already own PSOV1, I decided that I would buy PSOV2 in order to round out my collection. PSOV2 is a real-time role playing game ("role playing game" is generally abbreviated "RPG"), which means the action takes place without breaks and/or turns ("breaks" and "turns" are terms associated with "turn-based" RPGs). As a hardcore gamer and video game collector, I immediately noticed some game elements which will appeal more to gamers such as myself rather than to the average gamer, such as the vast collection of items and the wide range of customization abilities for your character. On the other hand, the story is pretty good and most gamers will find it interesting. Furthermore, the fighting style is easy to pick up (it takes a little skill to master it, but it is easy to get started) and the music is also fairly well done. The difficulty at the beginning of the game is at a level consistent with most average gamers' abilities, however the difficulty greatly increases later on and then leans much more toward the hardcore gaming enthusiast. PSOV2 can also be played online with other gamers, a very nice feature in my opinion. Overall, if you enjoy RPGs and have some decent time and patience to invest in a game, then give PSOV2 a try. However, if you cannot stand monotonous fighting for above-average lengths of time and/or do not appreciate real-time fighting, then this game is probably not for you.

This was a great game. I had played it a bit a few years ago and had lost my copy so I decided to give it another go, I've had the game for about a month now and still play it regularly. Too bad the online servers are gone and that its only 1 player offline =( I could have sworn I had played it before with my brother as 2 player offline mode, but I guess not. It's given me a reason to pull out my Dreamcast and play some awesome games again, I hope you like it as much as I do =D

Return To The Planet Of Ragol In This Phantastic Online RPG
Review created: 05/03/02
by: jeremy1456-- a member of Epinions and Lead in Games

Pros:
Online Mode Is Very Nice, Good Graphics and Sound...

Cons:
Weak Story, Tri-monthly fees...

Phantasy Star Online is a significant game for me because of many reasons, it was the first online game I've ever played, and it was one of the few games that lasted a very long time for me, for most games I will simply quit playing when I get near enough to the end of it. Phantasy Star Online offered something to console gamers that those without a PC had never experienced before, a massive online RPG. The Sega DreamCast was undeniably the first console to make online gaming on console popular, Sega's now dead console is one of my personal favorites. And so with such a great game do you...

Phantasy Star Online v.2: Houston, We have a problem
Review created: 04/05/02
by: Rock_On -- a member of Epinions

Pros:
addictive, battle system

Cons:
walk then run

You know what? The people who work at Funcoland kept telling me that I was degrading myself by buying a Dreamcast, and kept insisting that I buy an X-Box(the current cash cow), GC, or PS2. But really, I think I ve upgraded myself. I ve already found a good game on the Dreamcast that I clocked over 18 hours in the first couple days of having it, and there are many more that I want to get. The PS2, GC, and X-Box all have some good games, but some of the replay value isn t really high and so you ve shelved a fifty dollar game within a week(depending on your play level). Sure the PS2 s got Final..

Pros:
Weaponry, Mag raising, quite addictive online

Cons:
Tri-monthly fees, Offline player is terrible, Cheaters have butchered Online mode, not enough new stuff.

Phantasy Star Online is the follow up to Phantasy Star online. Basically the game is the same as the first one (going into a room, killing some monsters, go to next room, repeat) only it has some minor changes in it. 1) You can now battle online (not reccomended due to high amounts of lag/cheaters) 2) Challenge mode in which you complete a set of tasks (mainly the same as regular, but with a set level of Experience and a few actual puzzles) Again not recommended as you need a great amount of patience waiting for someone to join you as many people have completed 'c-mode' and the cheaters. 3...

  PSO v. 2
Review created: 03/17/07
by: miginuse -- a member of Epinions

Pros:
Still a fun game

Cons:
nothing really new compared to PSO v.1

This video game is almost exactly as PSO v.1, except for a few minor changes like new weapons, etc. Nevertheless, it still has awesome gameplay, very nice graphics, and you can play it over and over.

Pros:
great graphics, sweet game play. new world/ science fiction thriller story line an iconic game

Cons:
D/C is dead

well this was a great game till the d.c. system tanked. as much as this game was advertised as an online game. i felt it was over hyped. i found it much more fun to play it off line. the thrill of beating a boss only beatable with teamwork solo was awesome...good times!
