Reviews Review created: 09/02/08 by: I purchased this because of Sense and Sensibility and Pride and Prejudice. Time will show if this one also becomes a family favorite. The cinematography is excellent. And the humor as well as romance comes through superbly. Review ID: 10000000008251883 Was this review helpful? Report this review This version followed the books storyline more closely, but it seemed to move so slowly. I liked the cast of the 2008 version with Sally Hawkins better than this version. The casting of the principle characters for this version is too old. Review ID: 10000000007693067 Was this review helpful? Report this review This has always been one of my favorite Jane Austen fairy tales. The acting in the one and the portrayal of the characters is excellent. I love the back ground--the interior of the houses, the outdoor scenery and the costumes are some of the prettiest of any of the Austen stories. I find the prejudices of the era fascinating and can watch this charming film over and over. These things add up to the best of the "Persuasion" Classics. This is a really excellecent movie. I can't say enough about it. It's great. I've wanted it for a long time and I got it at a great price. Way below the price for Critic's Video.
