Turin (the master of knowing perfumery) and Sanchez(a MakeupAlley pedestrian reviewer that apparently caught his eye) compiled their reviews into this book together.
Both try too hard(but especially Sanchez) to be wry and witty. And strangely lots of fine fragrances(whether popularly known or from almost obscure niche houses) are omitted from reviews altogether. It's a sort of haphazard fragrance review book.
Don't make your fragrance purchases based on their opinions. Decide for yourself, as fragrance and what pleases our individual noses are delightfully individual.
The book jacket is lovely of course, and makes for a nice coffee table addition. ;-)

This book is one of the most useful, intelligent and pithy treatises I've yet
to read on perfume. As amatter of fact, it's one of the only books on this subject
out there. Both of the authors are extremely knowledgable about perfume
chemistry, buying,etc. Their anecdotal comments make this book a triumph--like
sitting down with a friend over a cup of coffee and dishing! I've bought
three copies and I'ver eadit at least four times for it's fascinating! A great
book; one that any woman, like me, should have.

Highly Recommended Guide to Perfume
) I had borrowed this book from the libray and enjoyed reading the many perfume reviews. Although I may not agree with all of them, it is a fun read and the only guideline of it's type that I can find available. It's a useful book to have on hand if you like to try new perfumes. The authors also publish a continuing newsletter with additional new perfume reviews. They are credible authorities on scent.
