Perfect Vehicle by Melissa Holbrook Pierson (1997, Hardcover)

This is a fascinating look at motorcycling. The writer doesn't just relate facts, histories, and evaluations, although that is part of it. The best passages are when she explores her personal thoughts about cycling. At times she rivals a good poet in her thoughtful insights and eloquent manner of putting it all on paper. I imagine this is the book the accomplished poet Sara Teasdale would have written if she could have taken up the activity herself. Marvelous!
