A Pam Anderson cookbook should be in every kitchen, and this is the best one to start with. This book teaches you how to cook and why to do it as the author says to. It doesn't include every dish in the world, but I plan to work my way through each one that is in the book. My family won't be going hungry either, as I don't seem to make mistakes when I follow these recipes and instructions. She even tells you about choosing ingredients and cookware when important. My favorite accomplishments are the Perfect Roast Turkey and Batter Fruit Cobbler. A real person can cook real meals with this book as a guide.

What I thought was a cookbook of favorite recipes by Pam Anderson turned out to be that and a whole lot more. She has perfected these classic recipes and in the process has learned many cooking tricks, secrets, and ideas which she gladly shares in this cookbook. You will feel as if you have gone to her private cooking class each time you try a recipe. It may take a little longer to read the text, but it is so well worth the reading!

When editor Anderson wrote this she was executive editor of Cook's Illustrated. If you need illustrations on how to cut up a chicken for instance, it's there with the recipe...she gives great hints to go with the recipes. I was proud to add this book to my 500+ cookbook collection. I recommend all her books! She now writes for USA Weekend and Fine Cooking. My favorite of her books is Perfect Recipes for Having People Over...if you like to entertain but time is limited...you'll love that book... yumm yumm!
