Editorial Reviews 3 stars out of 4 -- "David Twohy, the director, allows creepiness to steal into the film slowly, but soon the jungle shadows seem filled with menace." Chicago Sun-Times - Roger Ebert (08/05/2009)
"The actors give themselves over to this elaborate game of Clue....Olyphant and Shelton seem to have fun with their roles, and it shows in solid performances..." Hollywood Reporter - Kirk Honeycutt (08/05/2009)
"Even if you know what's coming, it's a neat bit of meta-thriller filmmaking, as much about the mechanics of storytelling as a reasonably satisfying example of it." A.V. Club - Scott Tobias (08/06/2009)
"A big-reveal thriller with surprises that really do surprise -- and are well worth waiting for....A PERFECT GETAWAY finds writer-director David Twohy in popcorn form with a muscularity not seen since 2000's PITCH BLACK." Variety - Dennis Harvey (08/05/2009)
"To Twohy's credit, he does a decent job of keeping you guessing -- and interested..." Los Angeles Times - Los Angeles Times Critic (08/07/2009)
"In A PERFECT GETAWAY, the path of true love takes a twisted turn when faced with the threat of psychopathic killers on the loose....Lively and slick..." USA Today - Claudia Puig (08/07/2009)
"A B-movie-style throwback that's consistently diverting and blissfully free of morals and messages....It's a genuinely satisfying cheap thrill." New York Times - Manohla Dargis (08/06/2009)
3 stars out of 5 -- "[A] high-grade b-thriller....It's sturdy genre fair..." Box Office - Sara Schieron (08/06/2009)
"[T]he sense of impending doom is palpable. As thrillers go, the film is more nerve-wracking than most, and far better acted -- the four principals are terrific, particularly Jovovich, who gives a really nuanced performance." Washington Post - John Anderson (08/07/2009)
"Steve Zahn makes full use of the many varieties of hyper in his acting arsenal, while Timothy Olyphant has a heckuva good time telegraphing macho mania." Entertainment Weekly - Lisa Schwarzbaum (08/14/2009)
