Anyways, on to the DVD/CD compellation… ‘tis awesome. I am an avid Doors fan and I can say that this set will please.

To get the full benefit of this package, one MUST have 5.1 surround sound. The best album in the set with regards to surround is The Soft Parade. I love how the horns come from the back while listening. Puts you right in the band!

I really couldn’t tell much difference with regards to the 1st album. I had high hopes for “The End.” It could have been mixed better and I was hoping for more of a “surround” feel. L.A. Woman is great, most notably “The Changeling” and “Texas Radio and the Big Beat.”

Haven’t gotten to Waiting For the Sun yet, but sure it will be great. People Are Strange is just O.K. I guess I’m just a fan of hearing the music all around you.

The video clips on the DVD’s are nice, but the icing on the cake is the surround sound.

To any Doors fan, this is indeed the sh*t. It has everything musically, and surprises too/video, first takes, and talk among the band during sessions, and a few unreleased songs/. I'm so glad to own it, the only other set I can remember that was as good as this, besides the Doors set from 1997/4 cd's, was the full Led Zeppelin one, from about 10 years ago. Anyway, Perception is great, the box set idea is VERY cool/gotta see it to appreciate it/, all the albums, also again with extras/dvd's/, its a GREAT addition to any fans collection, and will fast become your favorite, at least for the Doors fan, I recommend it, its well worth the money, and as far as who I bought the set from, I'd recommend them to anyone, not to knock anyone else of course.

PERCEPTION is a six-CD/six-DVD box set that not only features all of the legendary Los Angeles rock band's classic albums, but includes rare recordings and video footage on companion bonus discs. Boasting newly remastered sound, the compilation traces the arc of the group's years fronted by the brooding, mercurial Jim Morrison, an undeniably charismatic and compelling performer who boldly announced the arrival of the band on its thrilling first single "Break On Through (To The Other Side)," and later heralded the act's demise on the haunting "Riders on the Storm." In between, the set features other outstanding Doors tracks such as the macabre "People Are Strange," the trippy "Hello, I Love You," the glitter-and-velvet pop tune "Touch Me," and the raucous "Roadhouse Blues," which all showcase Morrison's deep, resonant voice and the rest of the ensemble's tight playing and moody, inventive arrangements. Although many of the rarities will mainly be of interest to Doors diehards (see the unformed "Push Push"), PERCEPTION is an impressively thorough anthology with appeal for anyone intrigued by the proudly rebellious band.

If sellers on Ebay were not jerks. I ordered this box set about 2 months before I wrote this review. I have still to see any CDs as of yet. The packaging is all but inviable. The discs are also invisible and are not able to be placed in any CD player. It's like there is nothing is really there. I prefer my original CD press as they are physically in my prescience. The seller has also manage to vanish and disappear like my money. Ebay and Paypal seem to think this is fine. Apparently if you wait to long to open a case your are out of luck. This hole thing blows. Don't buy this inviable box set that never arrives, like me, you will only waste your money.

Purchased item asap, waited 2 weeks, still no shipment (only next state away from me), needed item for xmas present by the thrid week and still never got it. Seller never responded to many emails, etc. (Still to this day, over a month later). Filed a claim, still no response, then Seller ships out product after three weeks. Did me no good, notified Seller that I had needed product and couldn't wait any longer and I had to purchase another item at a retail store for the gift. When item finally arrived from Seller, (didn't need it anymore) I then, federal expressed it back to her by the next day overnight service....still never got my money backm, and she has the product too!!! Has product with all my money. Claim is still going on and its gone further into paypal resolutions center over 3 weeks now. Still no contact from Seller!!! Horrible Seller, must read other negative comments from other buyers on this person on never getting product, no emails written back, etc., no communication or very slow mailing thru this person. Over a month later, still waiting for money to be refunded to me thru paypal. Don't buy from this Seller: jewelry_jacq. I definately got burned on this entire process, hopefully I get my money back which is owed back to me and all is FAIR!!!

I thought this was a great box set. I love the extras and loved the box it came in! I decided to buy it after having a hard time finding all The Doors cds in stores and im glad i did.

These are the absolute best mixes of the Doors' music.The sound beats out every other release known. Check out the debut album which is finally released at its proper speed.

I liked the fact I can enjoy music and (dvd)footage all in one package. I also like the CD packaging illustration of a door with a peep hole to view various photos of The Doors, cool concept.
