If you are interested in America's history through the perspective of the poor and the social out casts, then book is the one for you. This book examines all the histories that the Americas has gone through, citing the actions done by the rich, wealthy against the poor.

Wonderful and truly a history of the people. This book should be used in the schools instead of having to memorize timelines, battles, history from the view of the victors as if waging and winning wars were of the only importance.
Mr. Zinn tells the stories of all people...not just the the white men in power.

I loved how in this book you can see everything the goverment tries to hide. This book pretty much explains how and when stuff really happened. This consists of true facts, no just the same stuff you read about in newspapers or you see on TV. This is truely a Great book!!

I don't remember the events of my lifetime in nearly the same way Zinn does. One step more and he would fall off the left side of the world. The spinning he does is both transparent and deplorable.

This book changed my life! It is a powerful alternative perspective on American history. Zinn is an incredible writer who will make you see history through the people's eyes, dispelling many things you were taught in primary education as part of socialization into the "good citizen" role. Not that we don't need good citizens...we absolutely do. But we need educated, critical thinkers, who understand history as it truly was, not as we'd like it to have been. We learn from history,so that we don't repeat our mistakes. We can't spin it through rose colored glasses, and pretend we didn't make any. One thing is for sure; this book will make you angry and tug at the heart strings. You will not walk away thinking the same way you did before you read it.

This is an excellent book that should be taught in all US schools curriculum,

It definately took the full time to get here that they allocated but it got here and was as it wasdescribed.

author published a masterpiece here this book contains information never heard of, never thought of, has has pieces of time you never even knew existed. This book opened my eyes to alot of things. it is cleary written by someone of alot of knowledge of many pieces in time. this book is a keeper. read with an open mind
