So Compelling, So Good, So Rememberalbe, So Recommended
Our city, every year, has one book one city and this book was this year's 2009 winner. That is why I chose to read it. I am so glad I did.......This was a remarkable story of the people involved in the making or saving of this "one-of-a-kind" Haggadah, a Jewish religious book but with Christian illustrations. Each story was unique and quite moving and was very compelling reading. I will probably read it again because it is that good. This was a very intelligent and well researched book and I felt like "I was there" for each period. Boy, do I appreciate modern times after reading of the hardships of earlier times. I highly recommend this book. The author Geraldine Brooks won the Pulitzer Prize for fiction for her book MARCH, about the father of LITTLE WOMEN......"murderaday"
