Pentax Optio W80 12.1 Megapixel

This little camera its fantastic for underwater photography. It's beautifull and small, and the quality of the photographs is VERY good. I'm a photography aficionado (have a Nikon D80) and this is a great camera. you should have another compact for everyday use (pics in dry are a little noisy) but if you want a camera to use in the pool, the beach or skying, it is the only one with a 5X optical zoom and the only one that can go 5 meter down below.

This camera produces pictures that are extremely grainy. I was very disapointed. Other than that, ok.

This is a very nice compact digital camera. The lens doesn't protrude so you can not dent it if dropped. The rubber bumpers are an excellent addition.

Draw back is it is hard for me to open the door for the battery and memory card. But my husband opens it very easily. Even that has protection from the water.

I bought this for my boyfriend for x-mas he loves it. The pictures are clear and I know he will get a lot of good use. If I ever need to buy a camera again I'll be back!

I love whitewater and this activity needs waterproof camera.W80 is my third waterproof camera of pentax collection.W 80 is much better then my old W20 or WP. Only one thing what I not like in new model - not possible to use optical zoom when camera records video.But like whit all good things - sometimes engineers make some mistake.

This is a revised review. Just to clear things up, I do like the camera, it has many neat features, and is fairly simple to use. I am impressed with it's size and love the fact that it is waterproof! However there is one bad thing with "ALL 3" Pentax Optio W80 Digital Cameras that I have had so far. All 3 cameras have had faulty image sensors, therefore the photos are all discolored. Half of the photo turns out good, and the other half of the photo had discoloration making the photos non-salvageable. Please note, not all photos are effected by this. Approximately 70% of the pictures that are taken, are effected by the image sensor, and you cannot see the discolored pictures until you review them on your computer.

I love everything about this camera!!! It is easy to use and is the most handy in every situation possible. It is perfect for beach life!!!

It's light weight but feels solid. USB connection is stored inside with battery and memory card to protect it from dirt and water. Large viewing screen, high res pictures with 12mp. Easy to use, has a small grip bump on front that makes it easy to grip with the finger tips while shooting. Way to go Pentax...keeping up with the times.
