Pearl Harbor (VHS, 2001, Pan & Scan; 60th Anniversary Commemorative Edition)

Using real events as references, this fantasy story is spread out over the opening days of WWII. Outstanding photography - especially the special effects (!!!!) and music but the actors were limited by the script. It seems that the writer tried putting too many historical events together in one place and then tried tieing them together with a storyline. Enjoyable to watch but don't get the idea that this is a historically accurate movie. This movie is in a NTSC VHS format and was issued in 2001.

I really like this movie. It portrays historical events as well as including a story of a long-time friendship and a love triangle. There is action as well as romance. I don't normally enjoy war movies but the scenery is beautiful and the script is well written. I believe the actors did an excellent job portraying the characters, fully evoking a wide range of emotion and loyalty to the characters. This is an excellent movie which is appealing both to men and women.

Pearl Harbor is a fast paced, (but long) movie that depicts the events leading up to the attack on Pearl Harbor and the time immediately thereafter. Chose this video as a good example of a reenactment of this tragic but landmark event in American history to help my son understand more than the words on a page describing World War II. Terrific acting and very interesting story along with the main theme of Pearl Harbor.

I love Hawaii, I love war movies and I especially love the story of Pearl Harbor. This movie told me new stories of some of the men and women involved in this conflict and gave me another perspective on the impact this had on America. I really enjoyed the movie and found the special effects very real.

This is an excellent movie with a great cast. The special affects are superb. It has just the right mix of action, suspense, and drama- while at the same time giving a rather accurate portrayal of the historic events.
This movie is highly recommended!

I just love the movie and the stars.. plus our camper only has a VHS player so finding on tape was excellent. I like love stories and my husband loves war movies..so we actually both enjoyed it.
