The Peacegiver by James L. Ferrell (2004, Hardcover)

I think that this book is truely wonderful. It has helped in so many different ways. It helps you want to be better and to do better.

For those who are not motivated by philosophies of men and really see themselves as good Christians and who really want to be in a good marraige but can't seem to achieve it.

The only book(non-canon)I've ever read which evokes a desire to really repent.

A friend loaned me THE PEACEGIVER and I read it twice . . . and took notes! I bought my own copy because I anticipate reading it - again and again . . .

THE PEACEGIVER is the journey of one individual as he breaks free from self-righteousness and pain after receiving the ministrations of a beloved grandfather. Torn by the disappointment, anger, and helplessness of a failing marriage, this husband is able to look beyond his wife's weaknesses and see how his own sins have contributed to their problems. Humbled through insights into the Atonement of the Lord Jesus Christ, this husband and father discovers knowledge that enables him to begin repairing the damage to his relationship with his wife as well as the emotional security of his children.

While following the struggles of this repentant man, a reader's own understanding is enlarged of the Atonement of Jesus Christ and the impact of this act upon the Savior as well as each and every one of us who shall inhabit the earth.

This book is excellent and invites the reader to take a good look at ones self. Truly an inspiring and uplifting book. James Ferrell is remarkable in his ability to parallel scripture stories and life today, putting it in a way that is easy for any reader to understand. We bought the book on CD and listen to it any time we go on a trip, but it is so good I also wanted to have the book in my library.

I was so impressed with the way this book portrayed the atonement and the value it has in our lives. It was very easy to picture what was being written. I can't give this book enough praise and even though my marriage is rocky the way the couple in the books is, it still helped my marriage. Thank you to James L. Ferrell for writing this phenominal book and being so inspired.

This book is amazing. You will feel different about your own shortcomings and judge others less harshly. I highly recommend this book.

I liked the premise that people need to consider their own part of whatever issues they have in a marriage, but it was kind of boring to me. A lot of the same sort of repetition which would be helpful tosome, was just boring to me.

This book has been life altering for most everyone I have talked to who have read it. It's spiritual message of Christ atoning for not only our sins, but for the sins of the people around us, is presented in such a way that gives a person energy enough to forgive more fully and make peace with people and situations in our lives. The author pulls from the Bible, but the book is about a fictional character trying to understand the anger and resentment he is facing with his wife. This book is fabulous because the author manages to give the reader a personal experience with Christ, as opposed to simply writing about him and hoping for the best.
