I just love this woman! No pretense here. Paula has pulled together the whole Dean clan to contribute their best recipes and stories. You'll hear from aunts, uncles and cousins as well as brother Bubba, son's Jamie and Bobby and of course, hubby Michael. The book has 175 recipes, plus the stories and snapshots from personal photo albums. I noticed she includes everything from healthy fare to decadent desserts, some that come from her cousin's bakery. If you love watching Paula on the FoodNetwork and own her other books then you should add this old fashioned Southern cooking book done family style.

I absolutely love this cookbook. I bought all of Paula's cookbooks and this one is by far the best. I love almost all of the recipes in it. Well worth the money I spent!

Love Paula Deen books. I have most of them. Just wanted to see more recipes from her family. I enjoy reading the cookbooks and cooking her recipes. She is a southern girl and I am originally from GA. I enjoy southern cooking. I just don't like spices and hot stuff like she does. She gives really good tips in her books too.

Paula, you've done it again!!There is nothing NOT to love about this cookbook! The pictures, stories and recipes are all tremendous! If you are a doubter, try making Aunt Peggy's Meatloaf (but make a double batch) After supper, the leftovers will definitely get eaten before the next day is over. I love this book!

It's written just as Paula speaks, so if you watch her television shows, you can hear her voice and recognize her wonderful southern accent as you read the funny family stories and commentaries she's included. These recipes are easy and simple, yet offer such yummy "hometown" or simply fabulous dishes. The recipes include ingredients you will most likely have in your home, they are not fussy, and her instructions are clearly written, leaving no doubt. You will love this book, it's recipes as well as the "from the heart stories".

I read this book from the local library and it was so great for everyday use - and so close to many of our family recipes - that I decided to order 3 copies - for myself and as gifts for my very busy adult children. To me it replaces the old standards like Betty Crocker because Paula Deen & Family are REAL to us and our lifestyles and tastes today! My son & oldest granddaughter had already surprised me with the quiche from her Kids Cookbook, so I already KNEW it would be used and well recieved! This cookbook is great for all ages and has YUMMY recipes for everyday and company too. And from this seller - wow, affordable and free giftwrap, too!! Definitely a new favorite of mine!!!
