The Patriot (Blu-ray Disc, 2007)

I have the movie in both regular dvd format, and now blu-ray. NO COMPARISON! The battle scenes and overall quality of the blu-ray version is light years ahead of the standard dvd.

This is one of my favorite films. Its a dramatic recreation of a time when the US was becoming great. The action never slows down and the story just keeps coming. Still not sure Blu-ray is worth it. A good up converting dvd player provides similar quality on 720P and 1080i.

First, I'm a HUGE Mel Gibson fan. This movie is a classic! Though I would say it's really for the 17+ crowd. I loved this movie when it came out...and on Bluray...WOW! You see so much more...right down to the delicate embroidery in the costumes!!! I bought this for my husband's birthday, as it's also one of his favorites...he's THRILLED! Lastly, the price was right...we live in a small town where the Bluray selection leaves a lot to be desired. So Ebay has been awesome for selection and price...

i really loved the movie and i'm very ill and when my wife left seh took everything. i'm disabled. And i was looking for blurays and found the patriot, which again i love, so i bought it. I hope this is what you were lookinjg fjor. Thanks for asking me to write one.

One of the best movies of all time, and a must have in any collection. The Blueray version beats any other version I had owned before, clear and amazing.

bought the NewPhone 74205 three weeks ago and was immediately impressed with the number of features available on this i nexpensive phone. It has a 1M-pixel camera, video camera, and speakerphone. The NewPhone's size is perfect for carrying in a pocket and the battery has a pretty good lifespan of roughly 4 hours. My only complaint is that the menu system on the phone makes you click four times before you can find someone in the address book, set an alarm, or perform any additional functions. Other phones I've owned have simpler menus and get you to important features easily. Overall, I'd recommend the phone if you're on a budget

The Blu ray version of THE PATRIOT adds considerable visual depth and enhanced sound quality to an already excellent film. This is an extended-cut with added- in scenes that help flesh-out some missing elements. Solid performances from Mel Gibson, the late Heath Ledger, Tom Wilkinson, Chris Cooper & Jason Isaacs add to its appeal. You can especially appreciate the authenticity of the military staging and costuming and the direction from Roland Emmerich. If you haven't seen the film, I suggest viewing the special features first (only 1080i) that reveal the amount of effort that went into the production. Worthy addition to a Blu ray collection!

Some of film's most breathtaking scenes accompanied by a fairly frequent bad taste in writing. Gibson overacts and the slow motion sequences are almost over the top, which create easily predictable plot changes, something that have room among war's irregular schedule of events. It's fun but long.

I have owned this in DVD and now Blu-ray. I owned the old Superbit 2 Disc and this Blu-ray is a big step up. First let me say the new High-def transfer is amazing. And if you have a surround system your in for a treat. Here we have a 5.1 PCM Uncompressed audio mix. You will hear bullets wizzing past your head and cannon balls exploding in your subwoofer. Not to mention the deleted scenes that have been edited back into the film. Now it's nothing too big but it doesn't slow the film down either. All in all it's a great buy especially when you consider the price.

You will love this movie.... tons of action and it really brings you into the era of the war.... Wow... they did a great job with it!!!

This has to be one Of Mel Gibsons best performances, and the high def of Blu-Ray makes this movie even better. Surround Sound is Amazing

This is one of Gibson's best performances and Roland Emmerich did a tremendous job directing this film. The movie will make you laugh, cry, and lash out in anger and then rejoice when Gibson gets his revenge (I'm trying not to spoil anything if you haven't seen this yet). Heath Ledger is also very good as Gabriel, Gibsons son. This is a Must-See and regardless how you feel of Ledger or Gibson, you can't deny the first rate performances given by them. I've seen this movie 5-10 times and I like it more every time I watch it.

I can find no fault with this movie beacus eit was about war and freedom and finally reaching that goal after many lifes were lost...

Fantastic movie. The Blu-ray conversion only improved the picture quality slightly. It was well worth it for the price I paid.

Excellent movie and acting. Should go down one day as all time classic. The Patriot has humor when the father (Mel Gibson) was trying to build a rocking chair that would stay together was so funny.....then changing completely from a mild man to killer to protect his family as chilling and later when his little girl spoke.......had to get out the box of tissues. Had something for everyone. Again, excellent movie.

I think Mel Gibson directed this action packed movie, which I now have on DVD and BluRay DVD. It's about the revolution in 1776, The British are portrayed as real nasty folks, I doubt they were as bad as the movie shows, but in war who knows.

One of his sons gets killed drawing him into a battle he was trying to avoid at all costs, I really liked this movie and have seen it several times now.
