You can start with a portable Radio that does't cost a bunch of bux... How ever it is very additive... The Antenna is not the place to try to save money... A long wire will do for starting out... It is better to Balance your radio & antenna... A Radio that cost big bux with a cheap antenna doen't work that well... An antenna that cost big bux doesn't with a cheap radio is not the best place to save bux... If you decide to jump in a good place to start is a Shortwave Radio & Antenna should be equal...
