Originally televised on ABC-TV, in two parts, as "Passion and Paradise" on February 19 and 21, 1989.

Before the film could be shown on British television, new footage had to be shot, changing the way the Duke and Duchess of Windsor were portrayed.

Filmed on location in Jamaica and Toronto, Canada.

Co-produced by Picturebase International and Primedia Productions, in association with Leonard Hill Films.
