Parrots of the World by Joseph Michael Forshaw (1973)
An excellent resource book for avian enthusiasts. Contains beautiful and accurate artwork of the parrots described in its pages. It is fun to simply thumb through to see the pictures. Written information is also very good. Both living and extinct species are covered. I purchased this book because I am a university student planning on getting a graduate degree in ornithology (the study of birds). My particular favorites of the avian world are parrots, and I needed a good and accurate reference book on those most marvelous creatures. I believe that it will help me immensely in my studies as well as help fuel my already extreme affection for all things feathered.
