Parasite Eve (Playstation)

Disc arrived with no extra suprises. Timely about shipping, though i wouldn't complain about a hair faster. Still kept up to their word fine, and am very satisfied with the whole transaction. Excellent. I recommend buying more from this person =D

This game is quite hard to pinpoint in a short review like this. For its time, Parasite Eve was at most a decent game in terms of graphics, but made up for it with a unique system of tuning weapons and armor to your own liking using tools found in the game. The Chrysler Building adds replay value, and is quite the achievement to scale (70 floors!). The story was based off the book, so it wasn't fully original per say, but to the people who have not read the book, it introduced something to think about, even if it was abstract. It questioned the power of cells in our body, using the vessel known as Aya Brea to portray it. I ordered this game because I knew I would not be dissapointed, and I was not. In the year 2008, I took more interest in this game (made in 1998-1999, 9-10 years ago) than any of these modern games for PS3. Beware though, as Parasite Eve II, the sequal to this game, is nothing like Parasite Eve, so enjoy this to its fullest extent.

I bought the game because I had been curious about it for a long time. Since it was so old, I had to buy it online. I bought it off ebay because the price was so cheep. I really wasn't going to pay more then $20 for a PS1 game, even if I really wanted it.

Its a classic Square Enix game, probably one of my favorites now. You play as Aya, a police officer in NY, dealing with Eve, a woman who claims to be a parasite, trying to destroy all human kind.

The graphics aren't that much to speak of, since its an older game. It was released before Final Fantasy VIII, if you need some kind of comparison. Its turn based, but you play in real time. You're able to dodge and avoid other attacks, while waiting for your meter to fill up. You have your gun, which you can customize, and then you have Parasite abilities. I really can't say much about those, since the only ones I ever really used was Heal. I really never considered them all that useful, I relied mostly on the gun.

Overall, it was a great game. I think worth a purchase for anyone who likes older games.

It was a fast and easy purchase and delivery was also fast. the game was in very good condition and playability was seamless.

I bought this game because i remember hearing about it when I was younger, and the playstaion 1 was the biggest game console available. So I figured I'd buy it and try it for myself. And I have to say that I'm really glad that I did.
This game is basically one of the first real time strategy games. While the fighting is pretty much turn based, you are able to run around in the combat zone to avoid the enemies attack. When your character is able to attack you are giving the option of attacking, using an item, or using one of the special powers that you develope as you level up.
The story line is quite nice, while I have not beaten the game yet, I am enjoying the wonderful plot lines that I have come to expect of Square Soft (now called Square Enix). You get to know the people, and they seem to have actual emotions, as compared to some games where you are watching a bunch of robots interact with one another.
All in all I would recommend this game to anyone who likes old roleplaying games. You'll really enjoy yourself, and you'll get a taste of classic gameplay in a world filled with next-gen consoles.

One of my favorite Playstation games from my childhood. It's a very intricate game, and the gameplay isn't too difficult to get into. I would definitely recommend it.

The storyline would have to be the best thing about the game, as well as the fighting style. It's not no turn base RPG but it's like a mix between Resident Evil with Final Fantasy. The graphics are great for a playstation game and the cut scene is just amazing!. This game is a true classic, a nice blend with horror/rpg. great for RPG fans and Survival Horror fans!!. I like this game because it's a classic. I love the puzzle and role playing games, and this one satisfies both counts. I decided to buy it because it is becoming rare and it is a game i have played since childhood.

First off, Parasite Eve is one of the games that I played when I was a teenager. I remember the engrossing cutscenes, engaging storyline, amazing music, great design, lovely upgrade system, and riveting battles. All of that still holds true today and even though some may say 'Ugh, the graphics! How did we ever say that this was cutting edge?!', I don't look at it that way. When a game has so many things going for it, graphics, as far as I'm concerned, is more about giving you a decent visual representation to complement everything else in the game and it certainly does that well. Besides, if you're looking for this game for it's graphics, you're looking in the wrong generation.

So what is it that I, personally, like most about Parasite Eve? Well the battle system is great, to start off. Rather than just watching your character stand there, the battle is in real-time and you get to run around and blast away your enemies with you preferred weapon of choice. There's nothing more exciting that running low on everything and then RUNNING away from the big monster that wants you dead. I also remember the story to be very intriguing. After all, this was meant to be a 'cinematic RPG' and it certainly lives up to that title. It's a little sci-fi and little bit of horror with plenty of drama to go around. The music is certainly pleasant to listen to as well. I don't remember many negatives about this game, in fact I can't really remember any.

So yes, if you can appreciate what I've said about this game then you should definitely try out Parasite Eve.

Excellent PS1 game. One of my favorites. Loved building my gun and armor collecting junk, and just running around shooting stuff straight out of some JOhn Carpenterish HELL unleashes its terror. Intense graphics for its time, and still enjoy watching the animations.

It was very entertaining....and very scary at times. The graphics during the cutscenes were amazing! I think it was the shortest game I played though ahha. 8 hours-9 hours...buttt there's a lot of story during those hours, and wut good stories those are! You could rent it, if you only like to beat it and then keep it on the shelf forever...Or you can buy it and play it anytime you want, as many times as you want. It's up to you. I rate it a 5/5

This rare Playstation game has been one we've been looking for for a long time,but most places were expensive. This time,we found someone very reasonable.
I would highly recommend this game to anyone who is into playing role-playing games. The graphics are fantastic and the story is excellent.

Let's just say that i'm not easily impressed, but this game sure made an impression on me which will last forever in my mind. The story takes place in New York City and i so happen to be from there which makes it more exciting and intriguing. I was blown away by many factors of this game, including the graphics (for it's time), the storyline, the gameplay, the puzzles and the list goes on and on. I strongly urge you to reserve a few hours in advance before you start playing, because once you start you wouldn't want to stop. The game sucks you in and you feel like you're actually doing everything for real, so be prepared to loose touch with reality during gameplay, i'm serious, don't say i didn't warn you!

This is a must play, you'll be very happy with this game and remember it for a long time!

I like the creatures and the storyline of this game, but it is an extremely difficult game to play. You really need a lot of patience & time for this one.
Save points are few and far between. Graphics are out of this world tho. I had it before and gave it to my Nnephew because it was so hard to play, but decided that I needed to get it and try again. Hopefully I will find the patience to get through it all the way this time. Last time I didn't make it through the Chrysler Building. My Nephew has played it through several times and really likes it!!

In the late 90's when resident evil ruled the suspence / puzzle solver genre, This little title was probably the best actual arcade style video game no one ever seemed to care about. It was a sleeper hit with a cult following for years. Then by the time the second game was released it was much more popular. Due in large part I think to the new polygon free graphic engine of the early new milinium. Enjoy!

This is a classic RPG on the PSOne. A great storyline and cg cutscenes that although old still have a certain quality to them. As for the gameplay I will admit it's pretty basic however you can customize your weapons during the game giving some variety. The graphics are stylized with the pre-rendered background with the PS 32-bit characters moving around like traditional 2-d animated films and shows.

It works great and I very pleased with the purchase. I was shipped fast and in excellent condition. Highly recommend the seller to others.

I decided to buy this game remebering how unique it was compared to other "rpg" style psx games. It has a good storyline and gameplay is rather smooth for being psx.

Squaresoft game based in Hideki Sena book about mitochondria mutations. Game graphics by now are not that great but at the time were the best of the best. Sountrack is by Yoko Shimomura, who has written game soundtracks for Parasite Eve I & II and Kingdom Hearts I & II.
Game system is unique and I can surelly tell you that it is a base for Vagrant Story's & Final Fantasy XII's game system.
