Excellent Beats, very imprecise controls

Parappa The Rapper is a classic game. It had laid a foundation for all rhythm games to come after it. The game is filled with originality, it is not often that you get to see a protagonist rap in order to use a restroom at a gas station. I am a big fan of rhythm games, I own Rez and Guitarooman so naturally I was drawn to get this game. "Parappa The Rapper" plays like a game of Simon Says, buttons appear at the top of the screen and they have to be pressed making Parappa rap. The problem is that even if you time your button presses correctly the game has a chance of counting it as a miss. This is what makes the game so challenging and somewhat frustrating. The game only features 6 different songs and can be beaten in about an hour. While Parappa's world is filled with interesting characters and admittedly catchy beats the game's controls are imprecise and it is too short.
