  Excellent Beats, very imprecise controls

Parappa The Rapper is a classic game. It had laid a foundation for all rhythm games to come after it. The game is filled with originality, it is not often that you get to see a protagonist rap in order to use a restroom at a gas station. I am a big fan of rhythm games, I own Rez and Guitarooman so naturally I was drawn to get this game. "Parappa The Rapper" plays like a game of Simon Says, buttons appear at the top of the screen and they have to be pressed making Parappa rap. The problem is that even if you time your button presses correctly the game has a chance of counting it as a miss. This is what makes the game so challenging and somewhat frustrating. The game only features 6 different songs and can be beaten in about an hour. While Parappa's world is filled with interesting characters and admittedly catchy beats the game's controls are imprecise and it is too short.

One of the Playstation's best classics. You must get this game, especially if you love music games and lovable characters. The original and classic rhythm game! You won't be dissapointed ( at least I wasn't)

This is a fun game, with some silly songs that are delightfully addictive. This game is fun for the whole family. I bought it for my wife but her and my kids fight over who is going to play it. This is a great playstation classic and it ranks up there in some of the most original games.

  Buying a Playstation Game
Review created: 11/08/06

I bought PaRappa the Rapper as a gift for my son. It was very hard to find an auction that I could bid on since this is a popular game. I kept checking ebay and finally I found some offers that had no bidders.
I started by looking at the seller's payment preference and then the descriptions of the cheapest starting bids until I found one that contained what I wanted. Usually I go for the ones that say "like new" or "barely played". I also looked to see if it came in the original packaging-it says something about the wear and tear on the game itself.
I also checked to make sure it could be played on a Playstation or Playstation2 to make sure it was compatible~there IS a difference!
The last thing I checked was to see where it was being shipped from. Some people don't care, but the closer to me, the sooner I'd get what I ordered and less wear and tear from shipping since you never know how the seller is going to package things.
I didn't buy insurance, but it is there if you want it. Since I paid a little more for the game than I had originally hoped, I decided against any further extra charges.

Parappa the Rapper is a gem for the original Playstation. Since it was made for the PS, it is backwards compatible with the PS2 and PS3 so people can enjoy it for generations to come.

The graphics may not be that great, but the originality and creativity make this game unforgettable. It is fun for the whole family and can be very challenging at times.

Great game.

If you like push button games, this one is great! It's kinda hard at first but the rymes will get stuck in your head which is always good. :p A great game for ps1 lovers who want something older to add to your collection. :)

I tried the game at my friends house and it was terrible! You press buttons on the screen as they appear to make a dog rap. If I were a child this game would freak me out, especially with characters like the karate master onion, or the crazy police moose(yeah these are actual characters!!!). Plus if the really weird characters weren't enough the game's only like 2 hours long.

I love the game! It really helps with hand eye cordination, and memory. I have played the game before with my sister and the characters in it just made me laugh. I have been trying to find the game for quite a while without any luck. Then I wondered if ebay might have it? I looked and there were some, but very few. I like the game compared to others because it has some humor in it and any age can enjoy it. This game is one without a bunch of fighting in it which is very hard to find anymore. What I don't like about the game is it doesn't take very long to learn it and finish it. I wish it had more levels on it.

This is the best game of all time, it is rated everyone so it is real friendly with children, even adults will have a fun time with this, it is wonderfully addicting, like the above said, it is very short, but it is fun along the way, and i still play it even though i have beat it, but everytime i get better, and make that high score i feel like i am so awsome, you should really give this game a chance, it is really great even to this day a classic, and it is real cheap, REALLY cheap. so pick it up, and try, learn, and love it!!
