Paradise Lost: The Child Murders at Robin Hood Hills (DVD, 2005)

Part one of a two dvd experience. Watch them in sequence, and draw your own opinions after the first, then review part 2 and see if you haven't found questions. After many years of keeping a track on this case, I have found many. I am in the law profession, and I honestly say that I was wrong with my first conclusion. By seeing all of the evidence, and not just pieces, hearing of the new incidents, I am certain. Justice has failed all 6 of these young men. Nothing in this movie has made me feel safe in a world, with new technology, forensics, dna, why has no further tests been taken??

This dvd shows there can be a miscarriage of justice, a rush to judgment, and opinions of others only because of a different appearance.

This documentary has only proven not always does the quilty given convicted, but also that the innocent can be convicted of a crime they didn't even commit.

What a waste of innocent youth, judicial evidence, and just plain common failure of the local authorites to check all aspects of a crime. I am shocked and overwhelmed that a crime like this can be commited and a law enforcement agecy can overlook some of the most obvious parties to zero in on boys that only stand out in a crowd.

This and part 2 are a dvd collection have to have.. watch 1 gather your thoughts, and see after watching part 2 if they change.. share it with friends, do the same, and open your eyes to the injustice of rushing to judgment. This is a movie about a modern day Salem Witch hunt.

I bought the DVD because a friend of mine gave me the book "Blood of Innocents" its based on a true story of what happened to those little boys At Robin Hoods. After i finish the book i had some questions i wanted to know the whole story, So i made some reseach and find out that there was a documentary about it.So i decided to get the DVD, it was very interesting, one of the best documentory i ever watch. Everything was there from the trial to interviews with the family members and the Three accused boys.At the end i was glad i purchased the DVD, im even considering getting part Two. i give it A+++.

Everyone needs to watch this DVD and get involved, 3 men are in prison for a crime they did not commit! I bought this Dvd to educate my friends on this case!****** Buy it today!!!!

An HBO documentary about three young boys who were murdered in Arkansas and the three teenage boys that were accused of the crimes. With camera coverage allowed in the courtroom, the makers of this film did a great job showing how small town mentality and "Satanic Panic" put three innocent boys in prison and left the real murderer(s) to roam free.

I bought this because i had to do a college report on this movie... i kinda like the movie but there could have been alot more things answered in tha movie but overall it was ok

When this show came out on HBO it was a mouth dropper. this movie was well layed outand worth the time to watch. Sure gives mixed thoughts on who really killed those 8 year old boys.

I have been familiar with this case for many years. I had seen bits and pieces of this story previously. May 4th will never be the same for 6 families. Three young boys were murdered and their bodies found in the Robin Hood Hills area of West Memphis Arkansas. A manhunt begins to find the person or persons involved in this savage murder. A young man, by the name of Jesse Misskelley, is know around West Memphis. He has a low IQ and is known to be "different" than what the bible belt accepts. He listens to heavy metal music and his two best friends, Jason Baldwin and Damien Echols have been in minor scrapes with the law. The police grill Jesse for hours on end....never taping the encounter until the end when he admits that he, Jason, and Damien killed those young boys right there in the woods. Sounds like a done deal right???? Not right. One boy had his privates cut off and was drained of his blood..........only thing is, there was not a drop of blood at or near the scene. Jason Baldwin was about as big as a 5th grader and it was Jesse who said the boys were killed there in the woods.

The stepfather of one of the murdered boys, John Mark Byers, gives the HBO crew a knife...never been used for anything...just wants to give them a gift. HBO turns it over to the lawyers and police. Testing is done on the knife and guess what? There is blood on the knife...the one thats never been used. Byers and his stepson both had the same blood type so it could not be determined back then whose it was.

This documentary begins with the site of the boys discovery. The hardest part to get through is looking at those poor boys and their lifeless bodies. Only a moment or two...but it leaves you with an ache in your heart. The families of those boys and the entire community started screaming "Satanic Panic" because the accused liked heavy metal and wore black clothing. As we continue through the documentary, we meet the families of all six boys. Very heart wrenching to hear all of them speak about their sons. We see bits and pieces of Jesse's trial and conviction. He is serving two life sentences in an Arkansas Penitentiary. We see more of Jason and Damiens trial. We hear the witnesses and hear the verdicts. Moments before the verdicts are read, we see Damien hold his infant son for the very first time. The families of the victims watch with such emotion in their faces. Their faces are screaming...."enjoy it now because you took our son away...now yours will never see you".

Music is done by Metallica. The lawyers seem really on top of their game. Unfortunately they fall short and Jason is serving a life sentence and Damien is on death row...both also in the same Arkansas Penitentiary.

Please watch this movie. If you dont buy it on ebay, please visit your local video store. This is a story worth hearing about. There is a sequel as well. More twists and turns.
