Parachutes by Coldplay (CD, Nov-2000, Nettwerk America)

This is a fantastic debut album from an incredible band. This album has everything you could want and more. It is the possibly the best album released in 2000 and the introduction to one of the best bands of this decade.

If you didn't learn of Coldplay until recently, you need to add this to your collection. Not only is it better than X&Y, it is better than most other releases around.

I am an avid Coldplay listener. I've been with the band since they released Parachutes all the way up to now. I can safely say that Parachutes has been Coldplay's best album. Parachutes is Coldplay being Coldplay; just a couple of guys playing their instruments without all that studio magic.

Overall I think This Cd Is really worth buying weather it be new or used it's a must have. Not all the songs I personally like but the ones I do I love. This is a really a masterpiece with some of the classics such as yellow and shiver.

It has a soul of its own though that permeates good song writing, arrangement, singing even, it translates. his album's mellow sometimes murky undertones enhance the highlights of songs like Shiver, Yellow, and Everything's Not Lost. Somewhere in between these are the simple, timeless songwriters-songs that make so much from minimilized guitas and vocals. Listen for the hidden track at the end, a favorite on the album. This one CD saw Coldplay rise from obscurity to sharing a bill with U2 where Bono reworked lines from Yellow into the reprise of his own.

If you like Coldplay you will like this album. When chilling at the house, if your radio is on, most of these tunes are familiar. Such an impressive display of softness and power with every note. Suddenly, something to be recalled to memory after you listen to it. I purchased this because I was a good boy all week and it was my just reward for behaving.

I just started really listening to Coldplay this year, although I have always liked the top 40 songs of theirs that I heard on the radio. I love the beautiful, sometimes hanting melodies and soulful, thought provoking lyrics of their music and this cd is exceptional. My favorite track is "Trouble", although all the tracks are enjoyable. I highly recommend this cd as well as any of the other Coldplay cd's.

Heard Coldplay on "Austin City Limits". Wanted to hear more. I was not disappointed. It is a Great CD

I love this album. Definately one of my favorite cds to relax to. Love the meanings behind the songs. Everyone should add this cd to their collection. If you haven't heard it and seen how addicting it is to listen to, then make it a top of things you need to do today.

If you're in a softer mood, turn off Tool for a bit and listen to something soothing. This album is great for winding down. Beautiful and ethereal music. Some call this band a Radiohead rip-off (I actually like Coldplay better than Radiohead). Comparing Coldplay with Radiohead is like comparing Tori Amos and Fiona Apple! Similar but totally different. If you like Keane, Travis, and my first love, Morrissey, this is for you.

A great debut album and propably the best album they've ever released.
The best track "Don't panic" & "Trouble".

I really like this CD...I bought it for the song, "Trouble" after hearing the song on the radio. I already had their other two CD's ("A Rush of Blood to the Head" and X and Y)...I was disappointed when I was unable to find "Trouble" on either of the CD's and then went in search of the CD with the song...The rest of the CD is great as well- in fact, there were other songs on the CD that I had heard before and like. This CD is highly recommended to fans of Coldplay's music...There is nothing I dislike about the CD.

I must be honest I am a HUGE fan of Coldplay...and so far there is NOT one CD that I have of theirs that I don't absolutly LOVE to the fullest...a MUST HAVE.

at this point, Coldplay has it's most stripped down sound of any of the cds, a sound very signature of the band. Later releases are great too, but none compare to the simple quality of these recordings.

I enjoyed a couple of selections from this CD so I decided to give it a try and purchase it on ebay.The other songs on this CD were not very good, I was disappointed.
