The only thing that I didn't like about this product is that there was writing all over the dvd and i don't believe the description said that. Wouldn't be very good if someone was trying to collect animes.

A mindbender of a film among the likes of Scanner Darkly this masterpiece leaves you asking questions and your mind processing constantly. One doesn't wish to look away for fear they miss some important information. Absolutely incredible, a real achievement in the realm of animation.

This movie takes you on a joyride through your mind. The visuals and ideas will absolutely blow you away! It is almost like going out, without even leaving your home. It completely takes you away. A mix of Neo Tokyo with excellent comic relief and psychological thrill rides all mixed up in a sort of Psychological Sci-Fi paella with a dash of "Paprika" per se.... I definitely give it a big thumbs up! If you like Akira or Ghost in the Shell, you should love this Anime destined to be a classic!

If you are a fan of modern Japanese animation (think Godzilla, only really, really better) - then you will enjoy Paprika. The characters are crazy, the story is crazy - all the good things you come to expect from super anime CG. This is not a movie for the kiddies, however, due to mature comic relief and some graphic drawing, literally. I highly recommend you watch this with English subtitles, listening to the Japanese dialogue since it fits the movie better. Rent it first - I was surprised to find it at our tiny Movie Gallery - then decide to add it and the other Satoshi Kon DVD's you will want to see and own - like Perfect Blue and Tokyo Godfathers. This is different - move out of your comfort zone and enjoy.

Japanese anime has been my favorite, and I like the
director's (Satoshi Kon) approach to his movies. The
movie was very exciting and every turn and it's indeed
worth watching - I didn't like the ending but then
it doesn't prevent the enjoying of such wonderful
masterpiece.

This anime/movie is amazing, the visuals are beautiful and full. The plot is also very well written. I read it was based on a novel and now I want to read it, but I haven't found it anywhere. Overall this movie gets a ten out of ten. Watch it.

Lovely piece of animation! Though the plot isn't as complex as I might like, the artwork was mesmerizing.

This is sure to be a cult classic among anime. Very unique and intriquing story line. It's about dreams, entering other peoples dreams and a machine that can fuse those dreams and reality. It is hard to predict what may happen next in the plot as you might expect from the subject matter, though the ending is what you might expect. Probably the best anime of 2007.
