Nice QWERTY, Texting and mobile email its Strength

I bought this phone a few weeks ago to replace my Sony Ericsson Z750a on my AT&T prepaid Pay As You Go plan.
The Sony was a pink jewel, but I wanted a QWERTY phone because I mostly use my mobile devices for texting or email, and for that the Pantech is great.
The Sony Ericsson is a nicer phone in many ways. It has the same size screen but I like the way it displays the mobile net much better than the Slate, its camera is nicer quality, and I would have kept it if not for doing a LOT of texting. It made a nice gift to a friend.
The Pantech's plus is definitely its keypad, its smooth and easy typing. It does pushmail or OZmail and I can easily check Yahoo or Hotmail without opening the browser. It's fast and slick to do mobile mail.
I don't do Instant Messaging but the phone can do that too and it should look good with the big screen which is a bit over 2" measured diagonally like a TV.
The camera takes nice pix and it can do special effects like 'embossed look', a few others, but I haven't found a way to resize the pix on the camera and the pix won't send if they're over 600kb. It doesn't automatically resize the picture for mms format, atleast haven't found a way to enable that, and so have to check photo size when taking pix if I want to send it as an mms or save it to my emailbox.
I haven't used the video clip function yet so I can't rate that. Same with games.
The battery doesn't last any time at all under use. I'll use it a short while for texting or mobile browsing and the charge indicator goes down.
I haven't been able to figure out how to get the 'snooze' feature on the alarm to work, once the alarm goes off it doesn't repeat. That may just be my inability to figure it out or maybe it just doesn't work on THIS phone, it's a refurb.
BUT, it is a really nice mobile device, I like it. The font is switchable from plain text (gothic) to something that looks more like comic sans serif(free style). The mobile browser loads with that text style too.
It doesn't seem to allow for a screensaver but it does allow switchable wallpaper and can get wallpaper, ringtones, etc, from the AT&T site or assign photos from the camera for wallpaper. Or, assign them as caller ID photos.
I liked the already loaded ringtones and message alerts, 'electronica' was my favorite.
It has a clean easy to use graphic format, the keypad feel/layout is as clean and easy to use.
It's broad and flat with a large screen and might not suit people with very small hands used to ordinary slim candybar phones, but I like its feel and quality of fit and finish. Definitely though it has a simplified format it isn't a cheaply made phone.
I like the way it summarizes data transfer usage when I close the browser.
Although on AT&T's Pay As You Go (paygo) prepaid plan, the text package or account balance messages that follow each sent text are a little annoying to a lot annoying if you text a lot, it does keep you informed of usage.
For people who message or do mobile mail a lot but who don't want a contract, this QWERTY phone on AT&T's prepaid plan is nice.
I rated it 'good' rather than great though because I rated the Sony Ericsson Z750a as great, it does most things better, with the exception of the keypad not being QWERTY which is critical for doing lots of typing.
Unless you want a QWERTY keypad, I'd recommend the Z750a as my so far favorite cell.
