  One AWESOME Camera!!!

This camera is Incredible!!! I go to lots of Car Shows and love to take pictures of the cars, etc. I usually bring my Nikon D70 for this... Not any more, I went to a show last Saturday and took many pictures and then came home to print them out...WOW!!! These pictures were crystal clear, sharp and very vivid colors! The pictures at 9mp were saved at 64mb each at 19x18 inches in size! You could probably make a lifesize poster with NO pixelation! The Intelligent Auto is unbelievable! I like the fact that when using normal mode you can set your own Custom White Balance since I use a Expodisc to do this, it works Great! The Motion Picture Mode is unreal for a pocket camera...you can also Zoom while using the video, no other camera dose this! The only draw back I have found so far is the flash, it doesn't have the output I would like, however, when using the IA Mode you could actually get by NOT using the flash in some cases. Overall I give this camera a 9.5 out of 10!

Great Camera with Many Great Features.
Review created: 02/23/09

I did a lot of research before I bought a camera. I wanted high quality (pics & camera), compact body, lots of features, large LCD, great zoom lens, and HD movie recording and this camera has all of that and more.
The megapixels may seem low by some other cameras but unless you are going to be blowing up pics to 14x20 size the 9.1 megapixels are more than enough. It has a 10x optical zoom with 4x digital zoom with 2 types of image stabilization all in compact body. The body is a little bulky compared to other compacts but other compacts don't have half the features. The LCD is large and has multiple viewing modes. The pics are great and there are a ton of pic modes. I have read other reviews that say they wish there were more manual controls but if you want that go and buy a $700-$1000 camera. The pics and features are all excellent but I mainly bought this camera for it's HD recording and it will not let you down. Now this is not the HD recording you will find in a $1000 camcorder but it is 100x better than what you will find in other compact cameras that costs less than $300. You can also zoom while you are filming! This camera has it all at a great price. Check out other reviews, they all say the same thing. BUY THIS CAMERA!!!

  Best compact point and shoot
Review created: 02/08/09

I have just started taking pictures with this camera and I am pleased with the DMC-TZ5. I have had successfully taken good quality pictures with 2Gb SD,8Gb SDHC and 16Gb SDHC memory cards. I have taken indoor as well as outdoor pictures, and they all came out very good. I have a slight problem with slightly moving when snapping the shot or while trying to setup just the right shot. I have no problems with this camera making every shot clear and perfect, even with my slight movements. I have not tried to take the dark indoor pictures without a flash, but to be honast with you, I can't see when I would want to. In full automatic, you can only utilize the 10x optical zoom. To utilize the 10x optical plus the 4x digital to get the full 40x zoom, you have to take the shot in manual mode. Although, the stablization is still very effective.I had great success at full 40x zoom with no blur in any of my test shots. You only have to set the type of picture your are taking and let the camera do the rest. You do have some control in manual mode. Keep in mind darker pictures will look much better in 100 or 200 iso if you are going to make poster size prints. I do not regret buying this camera, and I would recommend it to anyone.

  Which ONE?
Review created: 12/10/08
5 of 5 people found this review helpful.

After days of reading reviews on dozens of cameras I found this one.
I wanted a longer zoom. This has 10X digital zoom. I wanted more than 2MPs which my old canon had. This has 9.1 MPs. So far it is amazing.
This camera is small but not too small that you feel you didnt get your moneys worth. I prefer black which is what I got.
This camera has the "best product award 2008&2009".
The zoom is very good but when you zoom in full it does gets slightly blurry, but what do you expect? It takes pics in B&W, Sepia, Natural, Vivid, Cool (blue tint), and Warm (red tint). I am what you would call a black and white freak, so I was absolutley sure this was my camera when I found that out. I got my camera for just under 200, brand new.
It also has a 3 inch LCD screen which is SO beautiful.

There are a few things that do bother me, such as right after you take a pic you cant delete it unless you flip up the playback button, where my old Canon did let you.

The slideshow with the music is a little cheesy, too bad it doesnt let you load your own music!

All in all this is the best little, large-zoomed camera I've had so far!

I like, that the product offers many features such as: Intelligent Auto iA,10X Zoom with availability to use it like a CamCorder. Also easy to handle and
carry. Not to forget the excellent Zeiss Lens.
There is not anything negative to say about this product.

  Panasonic DMC-TZ5K

I bought the Panasonic DMC-TZ5K camera at Thanksgiving and delighted with how easy it was to uses. On Auto you just point and shoot, and it take excellent pictures. It has a number of impressive features for a camera at this price point ($232, new on e-bay:include 6 piece accessories kit)the 10x zoom being one of them. Being a 9.1-pixel camera, video camera,it take very nice pictures, especially outside. It also has a recording mic, you can record sound with video, or make remarks about your pictures for later reference. The size is a little large to put in a shirt pocket, but perfect for carrying in a coat or purse, I carry it on my belt, in a small case. The battery has a pretty good lifespan of roughly 300 pictures, I brought spare battery off e-bay, for $8.00. I also got 16gig card, which will hold over 3500 pictures. My only complaint is that the mic is located where you want to naturally put you figure when taking a picture. Overall, I'd recommend the camera.

Great camera for the price with huge zoom
Review created: 12/04/08

I really wanted a small camera with a good zoom for taking shots of the kids at sports and our dogs at dog shows. This is the only small camera I could find with a significant zoom--10x. The Sony digital camera I had before this one had 10x zoom but the lens was huge. The view screen is nice and large. The camera does an excellent job of adjusting for lighting conditions. My kids skate--typically pictures taken at the rink are kind of dark. With this camera I got great bright shots and movies while sitting in the bleachers. The movies are great. Burst mode is good--altho the pictures will be lower quality. And that would be my only con that the speed of getting to take the next picture could be faster. A great all around camera that easily fits in you coat pocket or handbag!

  Great point-and-shoot camera!

I've done a thorough research before choosing this camera, therefore I knew what to expect. But it managed to beat my expectations. The image quality is excellent. The color balance (that is the white balance) is great out of the box. The 10x zoom is superior to any competition I've put my hands on. The autofocus is not getting worse when using zoom at any level. The battery charges the unit long enough, even with frequent use of the flash. I didn't yet had to recharge it. The menu is quite intuitive, though this is the area this unit can be improved on. But overall, for my opinion, this is the best camera in its price range.

Easy to use - takes great pictures. Perfect all around camera for me (a none professional). Easy to carry in a jacket pocket so you'll have when you need it. The screen is large and displays well in any light conditions. It has a great 10x optical zoom and has a "burst" mode that captures 6-7 frames per second (great for sports/action photos). Menu is intuitive so its easy to work your way around its functionality.

Panasonic Lumix DMC-TZ5 The SUPER Pocket Camera
Review created: 10/26/08
by:
4 of 4 people found this review helpful.

With a 9.1MP on a larger sensor than the TZ4, the TZ5, with it's 460K, 3.0" screen is the perfect travel camera. The TZ3 is powered by Panasonic's latest generation imaging engine (Venus IV). The full zoom button is an excellent new feature even though there appears to be a slight increase in noise. Depending on your MP settings, the TZ3 offers up to a 16.5 X zoom. Along with the 1280x720 at 30fps resolution of the HD movie mode, there is no comparison to this pocket camera. Steven1947

  Date stamp is rediculous
Review created: 07/29/08
by:
4 of 12 people found this review helpful.

i am very unhappy with the camera because i wanted a camera that could date stamp my pictures and this camera does that except it keep the original picture so you have duplicate pictures, the old panasonic camera i have would delete the original picture and i would only have the 1 picture with the date on it. with this camera you have to manually delete each picture which is very hard to do. i now only use it for filming now, which i find i wasted my money on this purchase. I like the panasonic brand but i was very unsatisfied with their customer service when i called panasonic direct. they were very unhelpful. The camera does take good pictures but it is useless to me because of the date issue. So if you want a camera which dates your pictures this is not the camera for you.

Large screen, easy to use, pretty quick shutter speed. Mine came with lots of little extras, very nice. Very simple to download the photos too. I am using it for outdoor and animal photos, also has a function where you can name your pet or kid and enter their dob and when you shoot photos you automatically know their age at the time of the photo. I have a feeling there are lots of other options I am not aware of YET!

I bought the Panasonic Lumix DMC-TZ5K 9.1 Megapixel two weeks ago and was immediately impressed with the number of features available on this inexpensive camera. It has a 9.1Megapixel camera and video camera. The Newcamera's size is perfect for carrying in a pocket and the battery has a pretty good. My only complaint is that the menu system on the camera makes you click four times before you can find someone in the picture, set an alarm, or perform a additional functions. Other camera I've owned have simpler menus and get you to important features easily. Overall, I'd recommend the camera if you're on a budget.

  Excellent Camera
Review created: 05/22/09
by:
2 of 2 people found this review helpful.

I have had this camera for over a year now, and I am still amazed at how well it performs. The battery life is excellent, and comparing picture quality to my older Canon that is only 3 megapixels, is a "no contest." The lens on the TZ5 is superb. The feature I like the most is the 10x optical zoom. The picture does not degrade at all at the 10x setting, and with the ability of the camera to eliminate "shake" at the higher zoom, you get picture after picture clean, clear and precise. I do not find the camera bulky at all, as one reviewer reported. If I had to buy another camera in this price range, my choice would still be the TZ5. Absolutely no regrets from me on the way this camera performs!
