  Good Phone/Small/Gets Smudgy
Review created: 04/10/08(updated 04/10/08)

I purchased 3 of these phones on eBay. So far, I like the phones. However, it seems to me that the sound quality on this phone is less than I expected from Panasonic (my previous Vtech phone had clearer/louder sound.) I've adjusted the sound on all 3 handsets to as loud as they go and it's still pretty low. Can't listen on the phone and be near another working appliance. There's no "interference" from the appliance, but the sound is just LOW. I'm finally getting used to it. Also the small small handset can slip out from behind the ear easily. Have had some near misses with the phone almost falling into the sink while doing the dishes. Finally, its high shine finish is a total drag. I'm wiping my kids finger and face prints off the phone EVERY DAY. It smudges very easily. You really have to wipe it down after every use. I don't wear make-up, and it still gets that smudgy appearance when I'm done. The small size of the answering system is VERY convenient. It doesn't take up much space. I'd say this phone is OK and it does what it's supposed to, just not as well as expected.

  Good phone!

This is not the most feature packed phone nor is it the fastest dialing phone. However, if sound quality and cordless distance is what you are looking for, look no further. This is the best sounding cordless phone I have ever used. I have asked callers about the sound quality on the other end and they gave nothing but positive feedback. I have no problem talking on it while roaming outside in my yard (big yard).

The handset also works great as a speaker phone.

  Panasonic KX-TGA820B 1.9 GHz 1-Line Cordless Handset
Review created: 03/14/09

This is one of PANASONIC'S newer small and lightweight model Dect 6.0 cordless phones with many usable features. The more time you spend familuarizing yourself with the programing and everyday useage of this attractive little phone, the easier and more enjoyable it will become.
Buy two or three and put one in every room in the home or it will even fit in your pocket if you want to carry it around in or outside of the home.

OKay and pretty but missing some features
Review created: 03/10/09
by:

It is a beautiful instrument and the voice is clear and without interference. The screen in color is a nice touch and the time on the screen is great. I like the black piano finish. I use the speaker phone most of the time and it works great without clicking and interference.

However, there are a number of important features that are lacking. There are other panasonic phones that have these features.
There is no warning with the battery is about to die.
The biggest frustration I have is that phone does not automatically add a ! when returning a call from caller ID. This means that I have to write the number down and then add the one and dial the number to return the call. Too much work and other panasonic phones do it for much cheaper with the same call clarity.
Do I like them yes?
Would I buy these again? More than likely not.
I hope this helps.
Steve

One of the best phones I've owned
Review created: 01/10/09
by:

Pros: all of it, excellent audio
Cons: no wall mount., does not show # of messages

"I have owned a few Panasonic phones in my life. This replaced a set of similar Philips DECT 6.0 (worst phone set ever - maybe that's why Costco dropped it from their line-up). I am used to Panasonic reliability and decided on this set, also for its colour screen. The audio is excellent, even in speakerphone mode. The one and only drawback it has, which I didn't realize pre-purchase, and I don't think it would have changed my mind, is that it doesn't come with a wall mount, and it doesn't show how many messages there are, as well as keep showing how many messages were read but not erased from the answering machine's memory. Also, being black, in a dark room, you have to fumble to find the buttons until they all light up."

I have the base and answering machine for this model phone, and this additional headset was a great purchasing opportunity. I love the fact that I have two phones in the house.

Best Cordless Phone = Panasonic KX-TGA820B
Review created: 10/17/08

This phone has everything you need in a cordless home phone, it is Dect 6.0 and the sound quality is EXCELLENT but if you have DSL (like me) then you'll want to buy a DSL Filter and the extra signal from the internet creates a low amount of noise. The speakerphone feature is nice, it could be louder but its loud enough that you dont have to hold it up to your ear, I believe its a saftey feature for your hearing. This main base unit does have an answering machine built into it, but the beautiful thing is that you can turn that feature completely off. Its a breeze to set up and to use, providing you dont want anything stupid like changable ringtones or wallpaper (this isnt a cell phone).

I rate it a solid 10/10, beautiful job Panasonic.

  Greatest phone ever!
Review created: 08/17/08

I had two sets of cordless phones before I bought these. I had problems with both. One interfered with my baby monitor and the other interfered with my wireless internet router. This phones DOES NOT interfere with either and been great. The range is unbelievable, it is stylish, no sound or interference issues, and it has cool ringtones to top it all off. I originally only bought 3 of these phones. I now have 5 because I was so please with them.

  ABSOLUTELY GREAT PHONE SYSTEM
Review created: 07/06/08
by:

My husband and I (in our early 60's) love everything about this phone. This is our 2nd Panasonic System in the last 6 years. Being on the elderly side and eyesight going it was important that the displays be easy to read and the keypad be easy to see. This fits the bill for both of these. It is small in size, but very easy for us to operate. We would definintely recommend anyone to use this system. I cannot think of anything I dislike other than it would be nice if we could download our own pictures on the display. Nothing important as far as the operation of the phone.

Top Notch Phone but Lacks Low Battery Warning
Review created: 06/20/08
by:

Purchased the 3 pack and could definitely use another 3, the more the merrier. These phones are interference free according to me. I have a full wireless network in my house. Wireless speakers, cordless 2.4ghz phones, wireless router broadcasting b, g, and n. Now I have this most excellent panasonic trio. Phone is so small and slippery. Mine looks very greasy.PROS: Cool ringtones, color screen (not that great). Plastic Buttons (way better than those rubber ones) You can access messages from any phone, you can screen your calls from any phone like you would on a home answering machine (this can become embarrassing). Decent battery life. BIGGEST COMPLAINT: where is the low battery warning!!!!! Phone will spontaneously die at some point when it reaches the last bar, very very very annoying! This phone is worth it!

So far ~ We Love them
Review created: 06/10/08
by:

We have had the phones installed for a short period of time, but so far, so good. The audio is much better than our old cordless set, so that is a huge upgrade for us. I still have not figured out all of the functionality of the handsets but the learning process is relatively easy. I no longer lose my wireless Internet connection when the phone rings (we had 2.4 phones previously)so that alone is a great improvement in our home. Friends and family noticed immediately that we had new phones due to the sleep styling and the very colorful look of the screens. We are very content at this time with our purchase and would buy the same phones again.
