Panasonic DVD-S1 DVD Player

This DVD has given me not a glitch in the 80 or so movies my family has so far used this for. All the connection are on the back for incorporating into your home theater. The remote is layed out especially well for the other DVD players in our home. There is a big/simple eject and play button on the front of the unit that is easy to get to in the dark. And for the $33 paid BRAND NEW which included shipping on ebay, an easy choice.

PROS:
-Easy to use with fast start-up
-Very good picture quality, especially for the price
-"Resume" function: The player remembers where you stopped the current disc, even if you turn it off. This very helpful feature is absent from even many higher-priced players.

CONS:
-No "time search" function. It can take a long time to find a place in a movie if the chapters are very long. I have a $30 Coby DVD player that has this function.
-No numbers on the remote for direct entry of time or chapter numbers.
-No LCD display.

Conclusion: A very solid entry-level DVD player. Although lacking in some features, the S1 performs well in core areas. Also, I have 3 Panasonic products and have had good luck so far with reliability.
