The Panasonic DVD Recorder/VCR Combo is very versatile and pretty easy to operate. It didn't take long to figure out how to schedule recordings. I appreciate the digital tuner because I don't have a cable box and I wanted to be able to enjoy my HD channels even when I record. I also appreciate the VCR so I can still watch my old tapes and eventually copy them to DVD. The only cons are that I wish I was able to copy videos from a USB or SD card to DVD. Other than that I think the Panasonic DMR-EZ485VK is what I've been wanting for a while now in a DVD recorder.

Great product. Sturdy build. Very easy setup. Features that it provides are perfect for our needs. Copying family VHS or non-copyrighted discs is flawless. Same model is selling at Costco for $280.

When it works,it does an excellent job of recording programs in either DVD or VHS modes. Big problem is it gets stuck, alot!! When this happens, it won't turn on or off, and the only way to clear it is to push "reset" on the front panel, or unplug it( which Panasonic says not to do). I missed a program as a result of not turning on for a scheduled recording. It has "Viera link" to my TV, which also has intermittant problems. All in all, were it not for having a Panasonic TV, I would NOT buy this, again. In fact, this is my 2nd one of this type of recorder (same brand, too)and it had the same type of problems.(Though the 1st one was a fluke...WRONG) Although my review is for this item, the 2 TVs we have of Panasonic aren't so great, either. Would I buy Panasonic, again? Definitely not!! Their quality/engineering has really gone downhill!

The set up was tricky. The instructions are wrong. The customer service was great though.Records fantastic the picture is awesome, Very easy to copy from DVD to VHS or VHS to DVD.I would recommend it.

I needed a recorder DVD and decided on a Panasonic. I had no idea it was only for the remote until after I won the auction! I returned the remote and was reimbursed. This should not have happened.

I realy like how clear the movies turn out.I will probably never use a VCR to record again. its nice that there is a VCR , incase someone brings an old movie over, or you want to dub some of your old movies.I haven't used all the other ports, but they sure would be handy for anyone having a need for them.I have a digital camera ,so I'm sure they will get used in the future.the machine has so many features it leaves you wanting for nothing.It took me awhile to catch on because I never read the instructions , but when I got to places where I needed to , it was supriseingly easy. this is a good product,I recomend it , haven't used any other to compare it to , but I purchased over the other brands because of the extra features others didn't have.
