The TV guide feature took several days to load itself, I thought for a while that I wasn't going to get that feature but after Two or three days, it searched out and found the feature. I love this thing !!! You don't need TIVO if you purshase this product, I would recommend it to anyone even those that are technically challenged. To record TV programs either now or in the future you just scroll through the TV guide, find your program, push the record button. The unit doesn't need to be powered on, it does it on its own.
