I bought this item specifically because it had VHS playback feature. I replaced my old VCR with this blu ray / VHS combo unit. It works great. Pic quality is also great. Easy to hook up and operate. Unit does NOT have VHS recording capacity, but I never record VHS tapes anyway. I give this unit a 10 out of 10 rating.

Panasonic DMP-BD70VK reviewI purchased it because my old DVD died and figured I would upgrade. Needed a VCR woth it because I do not have room for both under the TV. Everything is fine. The remote seems to be for DVD. I don't know if I got the correct one. The unit seems to look for a disk. Did get it to work once but haven't tried it again. The remote should have VCR/DVD. Unit gets confused. I thik it's suppose to be automatic. No problems. The outlet are limited so if older system make sure. My older unit had more types.
