Reviews  Treo 650 It is not the latest and greatest but it does what I need. The reason I wanted it is because I have Pda's and I had a cell phone but I didn't always have my PDA with me and this made the PDA a less than useful tool. My buisness runs by cell phone so it is always with me. This has made the Pda section- My schedule, my contacts, my to-do's etc.. a very useful tool once again. Being able to use the internet and getting e-mails could also be important to some but I primarily use that feature to download programs to the PDA and to add features to the phone. I also have found the phone to be as good as any other I have had and there are many enhancements one can download that enhance things such as volume both incoming and outgoing etc...; though I haven't found that to be a problem. The 300+ hrs of standby time and long battery life is also important to me as my phone is always on. The keyboard is a bit small but since I use the stylus to type I have little trouble with that. Since my PDA syncronizes with my computer I never find myself without a phone number as all of my contacts are there and all I have to do is tap and autodial any one of them. In the past I would always want to call someone who wasn't on my cell phone and I'd have to scrounge arround for the number. Review ID: 10000000002590363 Was this review helpful? If I would have known that the Treo was not sprint activatable, then I would not have bought it. The ad said that it was. I had to get new service with Earthlink, which was a bust. After seeing so much hype about the new Treo 650 I had to buy it and see for myself what the big deal was about this phone. Sure it's a PDA, and sure it's got high speed internet and all that mumbo jumbo, but I needed to know if it was really worth the $300 on ebay after all the hype. I'll have you know that I was not only impressed, but also AMAZED from the first time I turned this phone on! Let's start with the exterior; the Treo 650 has a beautiful LARGE screen with brilliant vibrant colors. Also, the keyboard seems to be just the right size for medium sized fingers with great location right under the screen (if you have chubby, stubby, or large fingers this keyboard may not work for you). The phone also features an easy to use metal volume control on the left of the phone. A port on the top of the phone, which is used as an SD card slot, also accompanies the Treo 650. Just purchase an SD memory card (1 gigabyte is recommended) and all of your memory worries are over! SD cards usually run about $50-$75 with shipping on ebay for 1 GB of memory which is more than sufficient (I found San Disk to be a very reliable SD card brand). Yes, the phone is a little thicker than I had hoped, but if you’re used to phones like the T-mobile sidekick you'll consider this phone tiny! I immediately forgot about the slightly thick exterior when I turned on the phone... As soon as I turned on the phone I got a feeling like I was using more than a phone... more than the usual PDA... I would call it almost like a real mini-laptop! The phone is set up like a computers opening screen. The programs are all lined up with either thumbnail pics or text view (depending on your preference) which makes it very easy to do what you want to do without any confusing side folders to look into. This phone has everything, and I mean EVERYTHING! You can write an essay on the phone and print it from the phone! Just sync your Treo 650 and call it a done deal! Like MP3'S????? Consider this phone your new IPOD! Just buy an SD card and save an endless amount of your favorite music right on your phone! Want to search the web and go to any site possible??? GO AHEAD! Search any site with no problem. Do you have a friend who has a cool game on his palm handheld device and you always wished you could play? Just beam it on over to your phone using the beam feature! Actually send basically ANYTHING over the beam! If you like to take pictures or video record then this is also the phone for you. Record endless video and take an endless amount of pictures with the purchase of an SD card! If you're looking for a PDA cell phone with all you can ever want and much more than you're looking for the Treo 650. This phone is perfect for any cell phone user whether you're looking to use the phone for business or as a cool gadget. For the Treo 650, PDA really does mean POWER DRIVEN? ABSOLUTELY!
