I am a palm lover since 2000. I bought my first palm V from Dubai duty free shop at $360.00. It was a simple black & white organizer including sync option with PC – that’s all. I have got Treo 700p this year – a PDA phone with unlimited features.

“The Palm® Treo™ 700p smartphone delivers everything you need in one go-anywhere, Palm OS® device. It combines a smarter phone with wireless email2 and messaging2, built-in web browser2, and rich media capabilities — all at blazing fast broadband-like speeds3 (Palm website).”

“Be productive even while you're away from your desk. Work on important files with built-in support for native Microsoft® Word, Excel®, and PowerPoint® documents, a PDF viewer, and 60MB of dedicated user storage (Palm website).”

What I most like of the Treo 700p is POP3 email download via GPRS. As an active ebay seller, I always keep my one eye open on ebay to track my selling – at my dinner and lunch table, at my workplace, in the car, or even in the toilet! Treo 700p has made it easy with its POP mail service and excellent quality blazer web surfing.

Chat style SMS organization is one of my favorite features on Treo 700p. It’s very convenient and fast to type SMS and other text because it has QWERTY keypad. Music lovers find it very useful for its integrated real player with blue tooth capability and it supports gigabytes SD card – you can watch movie if you want!

Picture quality of camera is improved a lot from Treo 600 & 650. Screen is wonderfully bright and smooth. It includes 2x digital zoom. Treo 700p also have ability to take video clips!

In this Internet era, people maintain dozens of subscription credentials for mail, ebay, paypal, Internet banking, credit cards etc. Splash ID on Palm OS is the right secure system to keep all of these credentials.

It’s phone log is fantastic to trace any incoming and outgoing calls as it keeps hundreds of call information. Treo 700p is capable of word processing using extra package.

I am a soccer fan. Palm & Tiny stocks released wonderful small software free for palm users. I loved it for it’s easy to update and manage World Cup 2006 schedule, scores etc.

“Download any of the thousands of Palm OS® applications available. Or, relax and play your favorite music and videos right on your device. With this user friendly solution in hand, you can stay connected2 and productive on your terms (Palm website).” Treo 700p users can download and install in a minute without any computer expertise – this is excellent!

Most amazing quality of Treo 700p is – it almost never crashes. Battery life is 10 days + on standby. I used to charge every 4-5 days as I use it often.

The only downfall is the low ring tone volume unlike usual mobile phone like Nokia or Samsung. It has vibration – I don’t have any problem to receive a call even in the big crowd.

  Perfect phone for ME!

I purchase this phone from verizon I got a good deal through them I signed a 2 year contract and got a $150 rebate. I love the features on this phone I can keep my calender up to dat with my computer. The phone can connect to the computer via bluetooth to update everything. If I'm on the move I can connect the phone to my laptop and use the phone for internet (a great money saver). For only $50 a month I get unlimited access to the internet on the phone. The tough screen helps with navigation through the phone. I have droped my phone 5-6 times and nothing is wrong with it at all. Perfect for a business man that needs everything at his fingertips. I wouldn't recoment to the average cell phone user because it has a lot of extra features that are for busness people. overall I give it a 4.5 out of 5.

Thanks I hope this helps a little.

  Amazing!!

This phone has changed my life!

I was an early adopter with PDAs, owning the 3Com PalmPilot, then the Palm III, Vx and Zire. But I never liked carrying both a cell phone and a PDA, and frankly, often left my PDA at home.

With the Treo 650, Palm has finally answered my prayers -- a PDA and phone in one package. I was able to import all the Palm data that I've collected over the years -- addresses, task, calendar, memos.

I've also found the web browser, text messaging, camera (stills and video) and MP3 player to be useful. And of course all the Palm OS games like Bejeweled, Solitaire, etc on those long flights and boring bus/subway rides.

The Treo 650 is a bit bulky, but you'll get used to it. And at first I thought it was bit hard to hear calls, but that doesn't seem to be a problem now.

Battery life is surprisingly good -- better than what I got with my last cell phone.

  A little better than 650
Review created: 11/03/06
4 of 4 people found this review helpful.

I used the Treo 650 with Verizon for about 6 months before I decided to switch over to a Sprint business plan for much better pricing and features. Sprint just seems to work better for business. And the Palm 700p is a great tool for the small- to medium-sized business.

Pros:

Keyboard a little easier to use than the Treo 650.
It took a little while to get used to the dropdown menu key being at the bottom rather than the top, but it makes sense.
The red End key is much bigger and easier to hit.
The look of the phone is a little better than the 650 with rounder edges.
Doesn't freeze up as much as my 650 did.

Sprint has a couple services they offer that Verizon didn't have:
On Demand - Sports, News, Weather - all at one click of a button
Tether to the Internet - I paid the extra $50 per month to get the tethering option which I was able to sync through bluetooth, but I didn't use it enough to justify $50 so I cancelled that service. But the internet works great and seems quite a bit faster than Verizon.

Cons:

The volume buttons on the side don't stick out as much so they are harder to quickly change volume.
You can quickly clog up the memory which causes the phone to sometimes take a while to think.
Haven't found a way yet that allows me to disconnect just one caller when doing a 3-way or when talking to 2 people on 2 different calls at the same time. It's easy to switch back and forth and put people on hold, but you can't hang up just one call.

Picture messaging with Sprint is a pain in the EXPLICATIVE. You have to log onto the internet to check pics and you have to set up your settings through the Sprint website in order to send pictures and multimedia. Verizon sent the multimedia straight through the message.

Same as 650:

Obviously the menus will stay basically the same since Palm hasn't really changed anything with the interface in years.
Size is still large, especially when I added my SENA magnetflipper case. But it sure looks slick and the case is nice for carrying business cards and an extra SD card.

After trying a Treo 650 the Treo 700P is a big improvement. Just the upgrade for web browsing is significant! As soon as I tryed this Treo I was streaming viseo as if it were real time, no choppy video or slowness. it was really quick. Just thefact that Documents to Go is included is a big plus. If you want to be able to sync a spreadsheet or even a Power Point Presentation you can with a simple click of a button then on your way to the Airport and you get the clearance to "Use electronic devices" you can review that spreadsheet on the plane and be prepared for that big meeting.

  Palm 700P phone
Review created: 05/06/07

2 of 2 people found this review helpful.

The 700P is an ecellent phone for those that want all the advantages of a Palm Device, low pixel camera, MP3 player, and of course a phone. In my opinion the Palm OS beats Windows Mobile for the portable PDA. Without having to deal with Graphiti makes this a joy to use.

The 700P has a much better receiver than the 650 as we own both so comparisons are easy to do.

We haven't signed up for the internet because it's much too expensive in the area that we live. Verison's internet didn't work so well on my 650.

Bottom line is the 700P is an excellent choice if you are looking for all the options that the 700P has but if you oly want a phone it's much too expensive.

  Incredible Device!

I have been a palm user for quite a few years so far. My previous phone was a Treo 600, that I had a lot of issues with. I was exchanged into the Treo700p 4 or 5 months ago by my wireless carrier and have been blow away by the quality and stability of the device.

I am also a fan of the amazing amount of software packages available online for this phone. I have everything from an MP3 play to movies, to a Microsoft Office compatible suite...

Definitely worth the extra money over the other PDAs.

  Palm Treo 700p Smartphone

The Good:

The Palm Treo 700p boasts EV-DO support, a 1.3-megapixel camera, increased memory, a sharp display, and Bluetooth 1.2. The smart phone can also be used as a wireless modem and has solid call quality.

The Bad:

The Palm Treo 700p lacks integrated Wi-Fi and runs the stale Palm OS 5.4.9.

The Bottom Line:

With EV-DO support, increased memory, and enhanced multimedia capabilities, the Palm Treo 700p makes a powerful smart phone even better. Sure, it's not perfect, but the solid performance and new features make it worth the upgrade.

Sprint Palm Treo 700P: access to the internet
Review created: 05/05/07
1 of 2 people found this review helpful.

This is my first palm and I like it. It is nice to have access to my schedule and of course the internet. For only $40/month (through Sprint) I get full, unlimited access to the internet plus I can connect my laptop and use the Treo as a modem-which saves me money at home & away. The phone automatically downloads photos and documents to the desktop/laptop each time you connect the two. The cable was included in the box to connect the two. Email is a bit hard to read on the screen, but I do love having the internet at my finger tips.

The alarm is hard to find & use. I do like most of the features though am unsure as to what most of them still do. The phone connects easily to bluetooth and works beautifully.

Overall I am happy with my purchase.

  Palm Treo 700p

My beloved Tungsten E finally died; I decided to combine my phone and the familiar Palm technology (and really did NOT want to reconstruct my entire contact database, so I can't help anyone who's trying to choose between a Blackberry or a Treo). My meager budget got me looking on eBay for a "used" model. I spent a little more than I'd hoped to, but the seller was scrupulously honest and remarkably helpful as I asked NUMEROUS questions!

I chose the Treo 700p because it was more or less the "latest" Palm technology and would allow me to grow into using its web capabilities, should I wish to. Right now, it's just my Palm and my phone. I fiddle with the included games and, happily, the battery of this device lasts MUCH better than that of the Tungsten.

I'm still learning about what it can do - this is a fun upgrade for me.

Palm Treo 700p better than the Treo 650
Review created: 11/11/06

1 of 1 people found this review helpful.

I had a Treo 650 for over a year and on the last months I was about to give it up due to continues resets and losing my preferences after each reset. Also the amount of memory was just too low. Now, with the Treo 700p it is a completely different world. The Sprint Treo 700p is very robust and almost never resets. Also, I feel that I don't need to backup that often because it is very reliable. However, it is slower than the 650. Now that is a the major drawback. Another problem is that the Bluetooth is not reliable when using a headset.

Overall, I love my Treo 700p, but I can't wait for Palm to release a new firmware update.

Al

Bought as a replacement for my identical phone that is 18 months old. My carrier didn't have a suitable smartphone replacement that didn't require a data plan. This new phone is a good product for my use, and is just as good as my original.

  Pre-Palm Pre
Review created: 10/07/09
by:

When I first got the Palm Treo, the first thign I noticed that was so great about it was the desktop software that came with it. It backs up literally everything on the phone: contacts, memos, to-do lists, calender items, applications, etc. The problem with that software is that it only works on XP.

Furthermore, I'd like to say that I installed a copy of TealOS on the phone. For those who don't know what that is, it's a theme package for the Palm OS5 phones (Treo, Centro, etc.) that makes the phone look and behave like the newly released Palm Pre. I'm going to be honest here, while the themepack slows the phone down a little bit, the visual difference is just incredible.

The phone itself is great. The only complaint I have about the phone itself is the speaker phone and the speakers. The speaker phone is VERY quiet, no matter how loud it is, and the speakers are pretty weak themselves.

Overall, it's a wonderful phone. I purchased this since my old env2 kept dropping signal. I decided to go with a Palm phone to ready myself for the Palm Pre when it comes to Verizon early next year, as my renewal date is in February.

Rating: 4.5/5

After purchasing the palm treo, I realized I wanted a blackberry after the verizon store was unsure how to fully use this phone because it is not the easiest program to navigate. The phone itself is perfect! Upon receiving the phone, I was very impressed with the promptness of the package, as well as the perfect condition of the phone. It was as if I bought it from the actual verizon website.
