Palm 21

Good unit, owned a few. I bang them around a bit so I have to buy a new one from time to time. I run an old OS and the Zire 21 is compatible. Good unit with nice features.

This is a great palm pilot. Nice screen, good games, and worth it for the price. I have used this for 7 years and no problems. Never had to reset it or anything like that.

The only thing I wish this palm pilot had is an expandable memory slot. Besides that it is a great tool for work, home and anything else.

Any one who needs just the basics will love this PDA. You can get one on eBay for about a third the cost of a new Palm Zire 22. I've used a PDA for numerous things. I come back to the basics as most important: calendar, address list, to do list, and a memo pad. If that's all you need (as opposed to bells and whistles) the Palm Zire 21 covers it for you.

I only needed a basic unit and the Z22 I had already purchased wasn't supported on a program I wanted to download, so I bought this unit to download my program, and then use. However, the lack of backlighting and the gray screen made it too hard to read the information. I have up on the program and went back to my Z22 until I can afford something better.

I needed something easy to keep my "to do" list on, because I was wasting a lot of paper! I have a terrible memory, and this helps me out a lot! Easy to enter in text, easy to use. I love it. I wish it had a light, though. It is still awesome!

The Palm Zire 21 is a great entry level palm that does everything that I need. It has a long battery life and is super easy to use. Could do better with a backlight, but is easy enough to read without it.

Good in that it runs Palm OS 5, so many more applications are available. The lack of a backlight is a big drawback. However, the screen does well in bright sunlight--try reading a book on the beach with a color Palm. If you carry a cell phone and your Palm in the same bag, you should avoid this model. Inadequate RF shielding can cause the cell phone to zap the RAM in the Palm. I bought it because it was dirt cheap, and I use Palm devices mainly as ebook readers. Gamers may not like the Zire 21 because of poor resolution, lack of color, and dearth of buttons.

Easy to navigate, small enough for pockets or purse. The only downside is that it doesn't have a backlight.

I've owned a palm 21 for years and when mine was damaged beyond repair I sought to immediately replace it. It functions as my "brain", remembering all the things I can't. Finding one to buy on the open market was impossible since the advent of the smart-phone. Don't have one, don't want one. Needless to say I am delighted with my purchase!

This is great organizer. It is the second one I have, needed a back up. Works well and have owned the original for 7 years, with no problems.

I had this unit but the portable unit died about 2 years ago. I hated the other computer calendars I had so I kept using the computer portion but missed being able to sinc it and carry the portable unit with. I'm very happy to have this back. It is quick, simple, and without all the bells and whistles and I love it just like that!

I had an old Palm Pilot, it is simple to use and handy for simple on the tasks without the complication of the internet.

I purchased two Zire 21's on seperate occasions, one of which was sold as "new." Neither worked. Hopefully, sellers will test their products before sending them.

When I lost my Palm Zire, I assumed I could run out and buy a new one. WELL--technology has changed and the Palm Company has discontinued that model. They are going for the PDA/Phone combo. I didn't want that, so started hunting. Voila, ebay was the answer. I looked a few times and didn't find what I wanted. Then I did. Weighing all the pros and cons, I decided to go for it. Paying with PayPal gave me the assurance of refund in case of a problem. I have had my Palm Zire 21 for a month or so and couldn't be happier. Thanks seller and ebay.

The Palm came with the charger and was in great condition and worked like new. Well packed and shipped promptly. Nice to have use of a Palm again.

I "Bought it Now" as I was in a hurry to get the Palm Pilots. I expected brand new. (Maybe that was my mistake.) The two used Zire 21's arrived without chargers so they were useless. The seller said they don't come with chargers. Amazing! What was I gonna do with them, use them as paper weights?

I order the chargers at an extra cost elsewhere and wait days (while collecting data by handwriting for future entry instead). When finally charged, I find out the stupid things don't work. One had a screen that is streaky and barely visible. The other can't get past the "tap the target" calibration page. What a joke that's costing me alot of time and my employees can't be efficient without them.

When the chargers were reported missing, I was offered a PARTIAL credit but had to pay shipping back too. That adds insult to injury.

Don't use these guys. They sell junk.

it is a nice system it is affordable it has some nice features but by todays standareds is outdated so if your looking for a cheap handheld for beginners thats light portable and easy to use definitely go with the zire 21

I bought this Palm to get a taste (in an affordable way) for the Palm brand. It did give me a good sense of features offered by the Palm brand. I would call the Zire 71 a good Palm for a person new to PDAs. Its screen is a bit dim and does not have a back light. It is greyscale, does not have the ability to view pictures. I found the download and HOTSYNC to be difficult to navigate; even the company manual did not assist well with this.
I do love a lot of the features. I love the simple to use, no instructions necessary navigation. I also adore the notepad feature which allows you to draw/doodle/write on the screen with the stylus. Another great feature is that you can write the letters/numbers and it will auto-decipher them into text on-screen. This does sometimes get a bit confusing though, so make sure you calibrate! It is not necessary to write them though, if you use the little QWERTY on-screen keyboard that you can pop up. It is very difficult to hit the little keys though.
I enjoy the easy to use scheduler features too. You can navigate between views of days/hours/months etc. very quickly and easily. It is also easy to set the alarms. The only problem I found with this is the alarm is not very loud or annoying (alarms should be annoying in my opinion). The alarm is really just a few little beeps. I have mine set as loud as it will go and can't usually hear it over a radio/car engine (V8)/television.
This little PDA is a perfect pocket fit and you can lock it so it won't turn on in your pocket or purse. I find that mine holds its charge for a very respectable amount of time (about 12 hours if I don't PLAY with it too much).
Overall I paid about $25 for it and am happy with the quality for the value.
If you are looking for an advanced PDA with photo sharing capabilities I would recommend upgrading to the Palm Zire 21, it has a camera and this one does not. If you are just looking for a starter PDA then this is perfect for you.

I have had one of these for 2 years. The battery life is AMAZING!!! unlike all those back lit Palms that run out of battery quickly. I am also able to fit many programs with the 8 mb of memory. (most programs are small) The prosessor is also very fast. A must if u r organized. it also charges in less than an hour.

I had once exactly like this and lost it recently. I wanted to get the same model because I found it easy to use.
