Painting Watercolor Florals That Glow by Jan Kunz (1993, Hardcover)

This book was a bit of a disappointment. Nothing really new in here. The photos were very average too. I wouldn't recommend this for anyone other than a beginning artist.

Excellent book. I would recommand it to anybody even the most experienced atrists. There are some specific tricks you absolutely need to know to make your watercolor look great. The vast majority of newby-artisits experience the problem that their watercolors "do not have light in them". Which simply means they used too many colors, too saturated colors or they didnt focus on the light instead of on the colors (which are just reflections of the light itself). Another thing that is very hard to change is the mental disposition when you paint a watercolor. Most of us start painting using temperas or oil. Now there is a huge difference in between these two mentioned types of colora and watercolors. Temperas and oil ADD COLOR AND CREATE LIGHT. Watercolors, viceversa, SUBTRACT LIGHT BY ADDYING COLOR. Kind of hard to figure out, but with this book and lots of exercize, the results are guaranteed.
