A Painted House (DVD, 2003)

I got the book from a friend, and read it 9' times when i found out there was a movie, i had to see it. best buy i ever made. i would tell every one about this book a painted house, the movie, was so close to the book,now all my friends, want to see it. hope they get there own becase i don't let this movie go anywhere,Mr Russell brown

This movie surely is a Hallmark Hall of Fame classic. Seen thru the eyes of a 10 year old boy named Luke Chandler. The young son of a cotton farmer during the 1950s, Luke endures a season that he would much rather forget. A must see!

I enjoyed the movie very much.I saw it advertised on eBay.It goes back to the everyday farm life pretty much like my grandparents life,and somewhat like my parens life as the way I remember growing up,before we came out here from Arkansas.Not everyone now a days, would enjoy these type movies cause things have changed so much,the way we do things now and yet we say,we have it rough sometimes,[Theres no comparing].I would almost rate it excellent.I would tell friends about it and relatives,I, myself, and my wife did enjoy the movie very much.

Although there is a lot that is in line with the book, the acting by the boy is below average and because it is the story of the boy, it leaves on wishing for a more experienced actor for his part. It did follow the storyline of the book however, and for that I would give it an average rating.

I enjoyed the book that the movie was based on. I was anxious to see the movie. The DVD was very good. It was in perfect-brand new-sealed condition.

its an all time good movie for the family.and resonably cheep a country made movie.and it was made in the state which i live in .

The movie is very good, but there is no comparison with the book. The move hits the highlights of the book. Well done and well acted.

i bought it because it depicts how time was back then. it's a great little movie.
i had read the book and was intrigued by it , so i wanted to see the movie and i wasn't dissappointed.
