I Love all of Lee Hammonds books, She is a brillant artist and I am grateful that she is sharing her talent with the world through the instruction of her books. This book greatly demostrates how to paint portraits in acrylics. It didn't take me long to catch on how to paint a portrait though I still have a long way to go. She makes it easy to follow and you will be a natural in no time. I highly recommend this book. if you want basics on painting in acrylics. You won't be sorry. Good luck!!!

I am really learning with this book!This is the first book I buy and follow to learn how to paint people. I am really enjoying doing things step by step. Soon I am confident I will be able to paint people I know.
There is only one negative thing I have to say about the book. It assumes a bit more knowledge of color than I have. I wish it would show a few more steps in between the sketch and the finished product. I feel as if the book shows steps 1 and 2 and then skips to 5. I have had to ignore the feeling of not knowing how exactly to get to step 5 and then, almost by miracle, I am there! I guess perseverance is the key.
