For the price, this is really a good everyday-capture-video-on-the-fly camcorder. If you want high quality, edit-to-dvd video, then you will need a more expensive video camera. However, to capture the mundane events of daily life (which over time become special), or the unexpected (like, maybe a UFO drop-by in your back yard), this is a good camcorder to get. You just pull it out of your pocket (yes, if fits smoothly in your pocket)and start shooting. It's so easy to operate, the buttons are few and very intuative to use. The video quality, is, also, very good. It's sturdy and fits your hand nicely. It has digital zoom (which enlarges the image, but looses resolution. All digital zoom camcorders do this to varying degrees. I advice you to just get closer to you subject, if possible. If you want to take really clear video at a distance, I recommend you look for a camcorder with "optical" zoom). If you want to record for hours, then you'll need one with more memory (which costs more), but I find that filling up 30 minutes of "life's moments" takes a while to do. If you're looking for something like this, this is a good little camcorder.

this is the perfect camera for a novice photographer like me...It is one that I can use to perfect my abilities. I would recommend it to others....just love it.

Easy to use...good quality. Nothing bad at all. Buy the thing. Unless you are one of those people who takes mountains of videos that last for long periods of time, the 30-minute video limit poses no problem.

My parents sent me this camera while I was working at a camp in Colorado. Making videos helped them see me while I was away, and setup for this camera was a breeze. Just plugged it into my computer, and in 10 minutes I was sending them my finished videos.

I purchased this as a gift for my son who is a first time father in the military so he could send video home to family and friends. He said it was so quick, easy to understand, and ready right out of the box. He e-mailed me a clip and it was awsome. For someone who isn't tech savy it's a great purchase.

Received the camera very quickly and it works well. The quality of the image is not that great. Overall, satisfied with the price and response.

This camcorder is so awesome!!!! I have newborn twin boys and I am using this thing all th etikme. Its the perfect size so it goes right in the diaper bag (its with us everywhere). It turns on super fast so if i need to catch a spur of the moment thing I can!! Also the picture comes out so clear. I just love this and I would recommend it to any family. It only hold up to 30 mins of video at at time but its actually been perfect. Then you just download it quickly onto your computer and your off and recording again!!!! PERFECT!!!

I love the quality of this camera! I especially like the size of the camera and the ease of use. I am impressed.

Just got it today from UPS. This item is "refurbished", but the seller still had it packaged in the original box and the cords were brand new, still in cellophane and new batteries were included (!). The manual/instruction were in the box as well. (GREAT job, thesmartbook!). The Flip Video camcorder is the model when they first came out (I think), so it isn't HD and it has 30 min of video time for recording. I was curious about the quality of the video (being not HD), so I tested it out. IT'S GREAT. Not sure I'll ever need an HD version, to be honest.

Out of the box, I just needed to put in the batteries, set the time and date and that's it. I was recording! I did a test shoot (video), then flipped out the USB arm and plugged it into my Mac. It immediately came up with options for the video and also a free upgrade for video sharing.

To sum it up, I am so glad I bought this Flip Video camcorder. It is my new favorite gadget and I will use it to death. Thanks thesmartbook (seller)!
