      Laura Levine Does It Again!

I can't read Ms. Levine's books fast enough since I "discovered" how absolutely wonderful she is as a writer. That is no surprise since she was a writer for the Bob Newhart Show" and many other comedy shows on TV. She brings all her quirky, laugh out loud humor into her Jaine Austen mysteries and you just can't put them down!
In this book, Jaine is still battling her weight and trying on swimsuits in a communal dressing room and trying not to be noticed by the tall, skinny girls doing the same thing. She looks up to find a kindred spirit and wannabe actress named Pam who introduces her to the PMS club....a women's support group that meets once a week over guacamole and margaritas to complain about any and everything in their lives. She is told Rochelle makes a guacamole to die for, but not until member, Marybeth, drops dead after eating a mouthful does the meaning take hold! I should mention that just before Marybeth took her fatal mouthful, she informed Rochelle that she was having an affair with her husband. While Rochelle is the obvious suspect, everyone at the meeting is under suspicion, including Jaine. This affects a new $40,000 a year ad job she was just offered by a bank. They will wait two weeks for her to prove herself innocent before giving the job to someone else. Jaine can't sit around waiting for the police to take months to find the killer so she has to dig up dirt on the surviving members. It seems they all had motive to put the peanut oil into the guacamole before it was served and Marybeth was deadly allergic. Someone thinks that in this club getting away with murder should be a privilege of membership.
