With roots in the Los Angeles burlesque scene, the Pussycat Dolls are a blatantly sensual dance-pop group, as revealed on their debut, PCD. I purchased it when the song "Dont cha" first came out, which I still like, but after "Buttons" being played over and over on the radio now, this is not the first cd I will put into the cd player now. The rest is the cd is ok- not great- just ok. Track listing THE PUSSYCAT DOLLS: 1. Don't Cha - (with Busta Rhymes) 2. Beep - (with Will.i.am) 3. Wait A Minute - (with Timbaland) 4. Stickwitu 5. Even though there are numerous dolls, only one has any kind of voice and that's Nicole. If you read the credits she does all the vocals. Thankfully, she really isn't all that bad. The girl(s) definitely are at their best on the fast jams. Don't Cha smolders with it's sex kitten allure and throbbing beats. Another favorite is the middle-eastern tinged "Buttons" which is just screaming to be the backdrop for a strip club routine. The ballads are likeable as well. One surprise is the jazzy "Feelin' Good". You would never dream anyone under the name Pussycat Dolls would pull something like that off. It's a fluff album but it's fun and rowdy. Although not one of the best albums of 2005, it definitely is one to pick up for a good price. Review ID: 10000000000124276 Was this review helpful? Yes , I went out and bought this cd after the Video Music awards ( which I wrote a review or guide on giving it a huge thums down) I bought it because the first week in Sept. is my daughters birthday, and for no other reason. I had the Joy * UGGGH * * Cough* of listening to this lovely ( im lying) CD on my way to Cleveland this past week, and me giving it an average is being kind. or, maybe, I'm just old! They may be fun to watch but the music is just lacking something... music? It gets in your head too which is super annoying. Review ID: 10000000000019792 Was this review helpful? Report this review |
