Album Notes
Producers include: Mahogany, Muggs, Suave House, Chuck Blagmon, Lavelle Crump.
If you can be torn away from your SOPRANOS reruns for a moment, there's another HBO original series worthy of your time. OZ is a gritty, realistic prison drama that examines every imaginable aspect of life behind bars with an uncompromising approach. The claustrophobic, hyper-urban feel of the show and the streetwise nature of the characters makes it a natural for a high-powered hip-hop soundtrack.
From the sly G-funk of Snoop Dogg's "Land of Oz" to Cypress Hill's victim-of-society plaint "Can I Live," the OZ soundtrack is a rapper's delight. The violence-and-crime-infested scenario of the series even gives the squeamish a valid excuse for getting a vicarious kick out of these gangsta tales.

Editorial Reviews
3.5 discs out of 5 - ...Using rhyme and verse, a stellar cre of rappers...talk about what goes on behind the prison's walls...A vivid look at life on lockdown....reflecting on the mindlessness of prison life while forcing you to think at the same time...
