Oz - The Complete Seasons 1-6 (DVD, 2006, 6 Pack)

This series, which features some of the same actors as in Law & Order SVU, is very dark, very gritty. Probably too gritty, too much emphasis on prison rape for most people.
The fear and rage that comes through the screen seems very real. I haven't seen another fictional series about prison life that captures that aspect; it only seems to show up in the non-fictional series, which I think accounts for my respect for this series.
Hard to watch as "entertainment"--but very interesting and well done despite that.

I've seen this seies aready on tv. But i got it as a x-mas gift for my boyfriend, and i cant wait to watch it wih him. Great item! :)

This was a Christmas gift for someone, but I enjoyed the series when it was on HBO. Very gritty drama, but very well acted.

It is a very mature drama, definitely not for the faint-hearted. However, if you can by-pass the violence, it is a very intriguing and fascinating series. The stories are well-written, and the actors are at their best performances. If Sex in The City is for girls, then OZ is for boys.

At first,I didn't think that I would be so into this series but after watching the very first episode I was immediately hooked. I didn't get to watch the last season but now that I have the whole series,I plan on watching the whole series from the start and hope to finish this time! It's addictive...it's like a drug. You will want it more and more. If this kind of drama is not your "type", don't knock it,because I used to think the same way until I decided to give it a shot. It's different and I just love it. Trust me,you will not be bored!

I love this series. It is very easy to sit all day and watch the entire 6 seasons in one sitting. It has a very good story line that has many different twists and turns with each episode.

I have no problems with this item. It was as expected and I am satisfied. The service was excellent. The time to receive was kind of long but worth it in the end.

The whole series is put together well. The whole scenarios are so real too, and the acting was dead on through out the whole show. I loved it so much that I could watch it over and over again. I do dislike the sexual situations and the guys kissing, but that is all apart of what it probably is like for real. I give the whole show 5 stars for the dynamics and quality, and am sorry it is over. I hope they pick it up again and go forward from where they went after OZ.

I love the fact that the whole series is condensed to one tight set. I recommend anyone getting the same dvd's if they like HBO's movie dramas.

i always like watching oz when it was shown on HBO, & decided to get the exaodinary set. i decided to buy it because it was a great deal!!! if i would of purchase it within the local stores, i would of paid over $100-$200 for it. This was a great purchase that i knew i couldn't pass up.

I have been a fan of oz from season one show one and wanted the complete set. I won the set on an ebay bid but the seller was crooked and when I found that he was a car salesman I understood why I was not able to contact him and verbally speak to him on why he would not honor his part of the deal.

Package came in a protective mailer, was factory sealed and it arrived in a very timely manner. Thank you.

If this is factual of prison life-we are failing miserablely with our youth in the formative years. We have not taught not only math and science, but being responsible for ones actions. We spend $40, ooo per year per inmate and house more than 2,000,000 in jails. Something went terribley wrong with us as a nation.

Series is intriguing and captivating !! The story line of criminals in an American prison is captivating. The sheer survival instincts in some of the episodes is riveting, almost scary. The companionship between men and race is a sad side, but necessary and unfortunately true to life in our society.
The brutal behavior between inmates is just another part of being human in a society of hardened criminals.

Don't do the crime if you can't put in the time to watch Oz !!

I DID GET THE DVDS IN A TIMELY MANNER, HOWEVER SOME OF THE DVDS DO SKIP. WHEN I PURCHASED I WAS TOLD IT WAS NEVER OPENED BUT IT WAS UNDENIABLY NOTICEABLE THAT THE DVDS WERE USED.

The seasons all came in very neat packaging. I don't know how often I would watch any particular episode more than once, but I have fridnds and relatives that will enjoy them. I do a lot of traveling and enjoy watching something different at night. Very nice clear picture. Good sound. Lots of extras. I would reccommend this product to other buyers.

I missed many weeks when this was origonally on HBO. Being able to watch this from start to finish is the greatest and would recommend for any fan This is all the seasond.

This is the 2nd set I have purchased as after selling the first set I decided I wanted to watch the program again and again, etc.

Except for the opening commentary of each episode, I was fixated by the true grit and topics covered in the series. There is nothing to dislike about this program in my opinion. It depicts real life behind bars without the need for alot of holywood/tv hype.

It definitely is not for everyone, as it is quite graphic in topic and adult content/nudity. If you want a bird's eye view of our prison system and what goes on, this is for you.

I bought this series based on the reviews listed right here on eBay. This is a very cold & tough series. You have to be to survive in prison. You have to be cold just to work & survive in any of the maximum security, total lock-down facilities. The prisoners are always scheming & conning themselves & each other. There is not much to do when you are in lock-up & can't go anywhere except where the prison officials tell you. As a result, total boredom which leads to riots, fights, killing & solitary confinement with prosecution for the death penalty. I thought it would be more than it is. I am sadly disappointed in this series & would not recommend it unless you could stand the same old thing over & over again. I myself would not like to be locked up 24 hours a day & have to deal with myself & worry about whether or not someone was going to knife me for looking at them the wrong way or for the color of my skin. Life out here is bad enough. Prison life is totally deplorable! Nor would I want to be a guard in a prison. They have to treat the prisoners like animals when they behave like animals. No Thank You!!!
