Oz: Complete First Season:

The Oswald Maximum Security Prison has opened an experimental new ward reserved for especially dangerous criminals. This unit, Emerald City, focuses on rehabilitation, but the world on the inside is even more corrupt and violent than the mean streets where these inmates come from. Inside the walls there are also two sets of rules, those laid down by the warden and those understood by the racially divided prisoners.This HBO series is full of gritty, violent imagery and deftly handles sensitive issues about the American Justice System. This collection chronicles the entire first season which culminates in an unforgettable takeover of the prison by the inmates. Barry Levinson and Tom Fontana created the gritty series. The acclaimed cast includes Rita Moreno, B.D. Wong, Ernie Hudson, and Lauren Velez. Eight one-hour episodes.

Oz: Complete Second Season:

Life on the inside gets even rougher for the inmates in the experimental prison system known as OZ during the second season of the HBO series. Regulars who have yet to be murdered return in these eight episodes which are highlighted by an Emmy-winning guest appearance by true life former inmate Charles Dutton and a final scene that left fans with many interpretations. Nick Gomez (LAWS OF GRAVITY), Mary Harron (AMERICAN PSYCHO) and actress Kathy Bates are among the directors of the second season's installments.
