A great 3-D animated movie with a great voice-cast!

I usually don't like these 3D animated movies. They usually lack story and are made for younger audiences.

Over the Hedge really surprised me, the voice acting was great, the story wasn't too unoriginal, and it's put together very nicely.

Bruce Willis and Wanda Sykes are great, and the rest of the supporting cast is just as good.

Over the Hedge is one of the better 3D Animated Movies I've seen in the last 5 years.

Rent or Buy?: I wouldn't buy it for myself, but if you have children or are a big fan of these movies, it's a definite must own.

This movie is the best movie you can possibly watch with your kids. Good Clear Humor, Lots of fun and perfect for the family. Rent or buy this and watch it with your family as soon as you can.

I wasn't sure what to expect from an animated movie featuring Bruce Willis. I found it to be lots of fun.
The movie features a group of wildlife animals trying to see what suburbia is like over the hedge. They have fun getting food in many ways off the comedic humans.
Although it is humorous for all ages, it does have a moral.
Love and family are key and without them, what do you have?
Aw...very cute, funny and perfect for all ages. It's not the best animated movie, but its family oriented and will give everyone a chuckle.
I suggest giving it a try.

Over the Hedge is another movie in a long line of movies following suit behind pixar's sucess in animation. But where to meny of the knock off movies fail Over the Hedge pulls it off..

The basic idea here is that we have a band of forest animals living in what little forest there is left in the middle of a housing development. Add a loner Raccoon that turns there little world upside down with the discovery that humans have all the food they could ever need and it's easy picking..
The problem is that they believe they are storing food for the winter, When in fact they are stealing food for a large angry bear.

This movie has fun and a lesson all wrapped up into one.. You have Steve Carell voicing an insane but cute lil squrell who moves the film along nicely with alot of laughs.Then you have The Raccoon voiced by Bruce Willis who shows people/raccoons can change.

I enjoyed this movie alot as did the kids who I watched it with...It had alot of good interesting plot to keep you and the Kids watching hoping for the best.

The animation was only ok.. If you are a sucker for great animation then stick to pixars stuff.
If you can look past so so animation for a good fun movie then I'd say this one has got what it takes to make the whole family happy..
and who dosen't love talking animals..

This one is honestly worth watching just for The Crazy Squrell..Trust me.

I reccommend this video to anyone who likes an funny movie. Both the adults and kids will think this is funny. Animals run wild in this movie and try to steel humans things after their food supply runs out. You will find this movie funny due to many realities shown in human life and of course funny characters like Hammy and the Verminator.

OVER THE HEDGE is below average! Save your money and rent it. It is a "cute" storyline however, Dreamworks fell short on this one and should of titled it UNDER THE HEDGE. Some of the animation was great, but the flat stationary background was just that flat without depth. The animal characters are "cute" and the voice overs by the actors were very nice and seems to go with their animated characters personas.
I enjoy a really good animated feature film for the entire family, but again I don't think this is it. This film did not keep my attention and I would caution parents of very young children (pre-school age) about the scary bear in the begining of the film. I was not laughing out loud on this one at all!

You Know.... this movie was a lot better than what I expected it to be!

Didn't take my youngest to go see this at the theater, but rented it instead on DVD.

I love good animated movies, and this one was surprisingly good!

I would watch it a second time if it was in our family library!

Unlike other children movies, this one had meaning and actually made me laugh. These days, there are so many movies out there that try and fail to make a good plot, I rarely buy movies because so many are such a waste of time, but this purchase was one in a million. I bought one for myself and my nephew and he will enjoy it for years to come, like Lion King.

Missed this one at the theater so the kids were really excited when we were able to rent it.

And I am glad that I did not purchase because, although the animated graphics were amazing, compared to the cartoon movies in my childhood, the kids were not engrossed in this movies like they were in movies like Finding Nemo or the Incredibles.

The story line is of a fast talking theif Racoon who owes a large Bear his food which he had stolen and lost. He meets up with a bunch of close knit wild animals that are starving because thier habitat is being over run with a new housing development.

Cute story, Great Graphics, Funny Moments, Lags in some areas, I give it a 4 star out of 5.

Recommendation: Good One Time Rental.

I love animation that is done well and this is. Laugh out loud fun. Great for the whole family. One I will watch again and again. Great for kids or just kids at heart.

This is a great family movie, pop the popcorn and gather around the tube and enjoy this movie with your family. We really enjoyed watching this movie, we rented it and plan to buy it so we can watch it again. Also I like the extra movie about the boomerang that was LOL funny. Also the preview of the new Shrek the Third movie. A must see, go out buy it or rent it tonight and watch it!!

This is a great movie. I love the perspective of the animals point of view. How they look at humans is hilarious. They even do a parody of Dr. Phil. The animals have unique personalities. The storyline is funny and sends the message of the importance of family as well as not to be selfish. Included with the movie are many extras like coloring pages, a short cartoon on Hammy, an obstacle course game, a skee ball type game and a Shrek promo cartoon--plus more. There's plenty to watch and do with this dvd! It is worth the money to buy it.

Super funny movie with great characters. An excellent lesson about what makes a family. You never get tired of watching it; it's so funny with great animation.

I watched this movie with my husband at the theater. I have never laughed so hard in my life! It is a great cartoon! I got it on dvd when it came out. I have it for my daughter who is now born. She will appreciate it later! The squirl is my absolute favorite! I find so much of myself in him. The movie has a good moral to it, and it is great for adults and kids alike! It is good for say a family night. I highly recommend it to all parents or teenagers. My husband and I went to see it with a bunch of 20 year olds and they loved it as well! See fun for all ages!

The messages in this movie - respecting one's self, respecting others, maintaining family (whatever that may be), and taking care of our environment are well thought out and do not come across as accusatory. This is a great way to bring attention to important issues using humor.

Wanda Sykes MAKES this movie. She is pure comedic genius.

The animation is fine - nothing spectacular. It is a good rental movie.

Over the Hedge brings you as a movie watcher to your senses and some of the harms that we humans can do to nature. This movie carries a nice message that family is forever but also we should care for nature and animals.

I paid for the item, yet never recieved. I actually had to file a claim against this person, but it's still pending. I ordered the item about 2 months ago and still haven't recieved it.

Great Kid movie. This cartoon movie format appeals to kids, but the subtle "Health Lifestyle" jokes are a funny reminder to adults to take care of themselves and their familes. The cautious Vern (the turtle) attempts not change the status quo and help his family survive on the basic diet they know and love. While RJ(the racoon)shows the family a world of vending food wonders. A hilarious comedy for the entire family.

If you want a Movie that will give your kids a lot of good laughs well this is one that will do the job. My kids laughed so hard at times I had to ask them to quite down some so we could hear. They are very hapy that I got them this movie and so am I, and I must say I enjoyed it myself. It will also be a movie that the kiddie's will want to watch more than once it will not be a waste of your money at least it wasn't of mine. This is a must buy for the kids. I give this 5 S*T*A*R*S*.

If you like family-oriented funny movies, this one is a must see. The animal characters are hysterical and the voices were very well cast. Wanda Sykes as Stella the skunk was perfect!

This movie is worth watching just for Hammy the Squirrel. He's like a hyperactive 6 year old and his antics will have you laughing out loud.

I definitely recommend this one to movie watchers of all ages.
