Over the Hedge
Surprisingly enjoyable for me. I thought it was really and maybe even worth buying!
I usually don't like these 3D animated movies. They usually lack story and are made for younger audiences.
Over the Hedge really surprised me, the voice acting was great, the story wasn't too unoriginal, and it's put together very nicely.
Bruce Willis and Wanda Sykes are great, and the rest of the supporting cast is just as good.
Over the Hedge is one of the better 3D Animated Movies I've seen in the last 5 years.

Rent or Buy?: I wouldn't buy it for myself, but if you have children or are a big fan of these movies, it's a definite must own.

Funny Story with good lesson

Over the Hedge is a cute tale of your everyday critters learning the lessons of domesticated life. RJ the racoon has a run in with a bear whos food he tries to steal, he is forced to trick a bunch of 'hibernators' into helping him collect enough food for the winter (the food is really for the bear). Along the way he teaches the hibernators the way of domesticated scrap eating animals and where to find the best human foods. Despite some trouble with exterminator and a crazy house wife the hibernators teach RJ what real friends do for each other and other lessons of friendship!
A great story, and very funny! Highly recommend!

I wouldn't say this would be a 'movie'. If you would like something more amusing, try buying the movie Madagascar. I wasn't so crazy for this movie, but it had funny parts. I would say it's fairly average, but this shouldn't be a movie. It should be more like an episode of a new series they could make.

If you want a great animated comedy Movie that will give your kids a lot of good laughs well this is one that will do the job. My kids laughed so hard at times I had to ask them to quite down some so we could hear. They are very happy that I got them this movie and so am I, and I must say I enjoyed it myself. It will also be a movie that the kiddie's will want to watch more than once it will not be a waste of your money at least it wasn't of mine. I give this 5 S*T*A*R*S*.

We had seen this movie at the theatre and can not wait for its release on Tuesday on DVD and HD BLU RAY. RJ is one of the main characters, as typical as a racoon is, he is rummaging for stuff. Also like a racoon, they get the nickname 'bandit' as they steal from others. In this animated movie, you will find that takes place, but he gets caught when he tries to go after one of his favorite potatoe chips. Knowing he needs to recover a large shopping cart of food for the bear, he is in big trouble. He camps out and finds a bunch of other animals, like chipmunks, opossum, skunk, turtle who are searching and packing their food for the winter. RJ gets to thinking and recruits this group who end up falling in love with him as they have tasted food they never tasted before. It is very entertaining and enlightening. The animation is just awesome, especially when they go over the hedge and see the new development. It is a Laugh Out Loud Funny Movie that will want to keep for your library.

The Movie was cute. Kept the kids interested. Great characters! It just seemed like there was 2-3 movies out this year along the same lines. As a kids your just excited to watch a movie, as an adult theres just so much of the same storyline catoons you can take in a year. For the most part I liked it...

I love this movie! The animals are so cute and I think they express a lot of my own views of suburban sprawl and encroachment. Plus, I love the Cheetos! It's a healthy and fun reminder of how we share our neighborhoods with some creatures who don't have and never will have a mortgage, or drive a Hummer. Plus, I have to admit, the adorable squirrel reminds me of my darling three year old grandson!

Although Over the Hedge has its laughs, its appeal won't stray far beyond young children. Unlike Pixar who manages to create movies that fascinate the entire family, Dreamworks seems to manage to entertain only half an audience-the youngsters. That said, there are some great lines in this movie and the theme is lighthearted. There's plenty of pop-culture to go around and the voice-overs are excellent. If you're looking for a great movie for the kids, get this one.

This movie is so funny! And it is good for kids and adults alike!!! The plot is that a group of hibernating animals awakes to find that their woods have shrunk during the winter. A fish out of water movie so to speak! The hibernator's led by a caring, wise, and hesitant turtle named Verne consider themselves a family. Their family is made up of Verne the turtle, Hammy the squirrel, Stella the skunk, family of opossums, and a family of porcupines. They wake from their winter hibernation to discover that their woods have shrunk and now they have a large bush encircling their woods. They begin to name the hedge "Steve" when a wiley racoon name RJ shows up to be their guide in this new and strange world. But RJ is not as helpful as he seems.
The action and adventure in this movie are nonstop. The animation is just fantastic and the storyline will keep you hopping. Just when you think you've laughed for the last time it will get you started again. We have had this movie since Sunday and my children have watched it about 8 times! They love it. The extras with this movie are cute too. Don't miss Hammy's Boomerang Adventure. That will certainly crack you up!
