Outlander (DVD, 2009)

I was a little skeptical before I decided to watch Outlander. It wasn't really that widely known only being released in 81 theaters nationwide, and was made with a somewhat low budget, but it did have pretty good reviews on IMDB & Amazon and also starred Jim Caviezel, so I figured I'd give it a shot. I ended up being quite impressed. The whole idea of combining Vikings, a space traveler, and a big, fast alien monster seemed a little ludicrous but it was actually fairly well done. For the budget they had to make the film the special effects were very good, the alien monster was definitely unique and looked and sounded pretty real. I won't get into any other details about the film because you can find out more about the movie elsewhere (IMDB), you'll just have to check out the movie and judge for yourself. Any fans of the Sci-Fi genre or, like me, you're a fan of Jim Caviezel (The Count of Monte Cristo), you shouldn't miss Outlander, it most likely won't disappoint. I'd rate it a solid 6-7/10. It does have it's cheesy moments, but also a lot of pretty intense scenes which make you greatly overlook the small flaws. It's also better than some of the movies that get a wide release in theaters, which is saying quite a bit.

This movie is a bit odd, judging it by the sound of the "catchy" phrase: predator meets the vikings.

But(!), actually, the fact that it's supposed to be about an alien entering the viking age isn't all that bothering. In fact, actually it's somehow makin sense. The story isn't very complicated, but still it all fits. All and all absolutely not a bad movie.

The reason why i bought it? It has vikings in it and any movie with vikings in it is a must have form me. Even when the movie is actually terrible.

Bu this film was absolutely not bad. I actually enjoyed watching it and probably will watch it again.
