Superior to the Twilight Zone
I first discovered the Outer Limits in reruns as a child during the mid-1970s. The opening of course hooked me, and unlike other shows with recurring characters, I liked the variety of stories and actors each episode presented. Finally, the sci-fi aspect of the show was facinating and sometimes unnerving to me. Ultimately, I found the Outer Limits more interesting than its more famous cousin, The Twilight Zone.
With the show out on DVD, it is great to be able to revisit this experience I had, I must say that even 30 years later the show holds up well on a conceptual level, as well as a snapshot of living during the Cold War and the outset of space exploration.
